Based on the comments here, I decided not to take my chances on the aisle and booked a lux for Thursday, August 11th at approximately 5pm. They gave me a 2017 Cadillac XTS with 180 miles and a manufacture build date of 7/2016. There were no other luxury models that I could see on the lot and on the aisle was a Nissan Murano, two F150s, a Toyota Camera, Ford Focus, and a Ford Mustang.

What a sad lot at SMF as usual..... My favorite part of SMF is the nails on a chalk board lowering of the barricade to allow you to drive out. If anyone from National reads this, please lubricate that thing!
1 x Hyundai Tucson which was the only truck/suv on the lot.
3x Chevy Malibus,
2x 2017 Chevy Impala
3x Hyundai Sonata
A few Kia sedans (don't remember the model)
1x Dodge Challenger
2x Dodge Dart
Several Chrysler 200s.

And those weren't Hyundia SUVs, if you were wondering.

My husband picked up a car last night and was pleased to get a Camaro for a change of pace. He said the Executive section was absolutely full. He described it as mostly sports cars and small to midsize SUVs, with a few sedans...since he immediately decided on a sports car, he didn't pay attention to the models of the sedans.
Weekend rates at SMF are so cheap which makes the Executive choices a real bargain.

Can I Get an Full Suze SUV without reserving
I'm planning on flying into Sacramento and driving up to Lake Tahoo for a weekend in Feb. what are my chances of getting an SUV without killing the bank for the weekend?

Had an "above and beyond" experience at SMF this weekend. I'd (stupidly) reserved a fullsize when we needed a SUV/Van with a 3rd row, based on my past ability to always grab one from the Emerald Aisle or Executive Selection. But, I didn't take holiday travel into account.
Got to the lot around noon on December 29, and there wasn't a single 3rd row in sight. I don't think there was technically even a fullsize in the ES. The only 4-door I saw was a Camry.
I told the lot attendant what was going on, apologized for being an idiot, and asked if there was any chance I could somehow get a 3rd row. He went to talk to his manager, they did some poking around, and came up with a Highlander. It was a bit dinged up, and tight for the 7 of us, but I was absolutely thrilled.
I can't say anything positive about the actual vehicles in the ES (other than that it's the holidays, and what can I expect), but the service was incredible.

Executive Area SMF
Hello!
I will be renting towards the end of this month at SMF National. Has anyone recently gone through the SMF executive are? Do they have bigger SUVs? What are my chances of finding one in the executive area?
