Oh, and 15,000 miles with crumbs in the console.

Yup. Got a 2014 Maxima. But hey...it's got a sunroof!

Knew from the subject line it had to be a Nissan.

Nothing in Nissan's line-up, outside of the GT-R, is competitive in the marketplace.

National's fleet of Nissans is especially disappointing. I've never had one with leather or Bluetooth.

A Juke was the only vehicle in the Executive Selection in CLT in March this year. It had cloth seats, no Bluetooth, and a driver's window that wouldn't go down.

The Altimas and Maximas have replaced the 2013 Impala as the dregs of the Emerald Aisle.

Ummm...it does have Bluetooth. Use the steering wheel button with the image of the person talking.

Just for hands free calling. Not for music, GPS, etc.

OK, but your original statement was no bluetooth at all, which is not true.

If you want to listen to your own music the Maxima does have an Aux-In port.

Many fleet cars don't have streaming bluetooth audio or factory GPS, whether they're Premium or even higher classes. Even the BMW's National orders don't come with it.

I do agree with you that the Maxima is definitely not the most well equipped PCAR in the fleet though.

The 2015 BMW Z4 I just returned to SEA had leatherette seats, no Bluetooth Streaming, and no USB port... and I'd still take it every time if I'm by myself. Still, I understand your sentiment and mostly agree (I guessed Maxima from the thread title as well).

They need to rename the premium car class, it suggests something it isn't even based on.

Like most car classes, it is based purely on size and nothing more. I too, wish it was based on the car experience but alas that has never been the case....

The size difference in this case, is in its caboose..

Pax x Suitcases

Mid 5x2
Stand 5x4
Full 5x5
Prem 5x6

There certainly is an exception to that logic when they classify EPA Compact Volvo S60s as premium, alongside EPA Full size Impalas and Tauruses. (I haven't seen an Avalon for a while.)

I'll ask at what location the OP got a Maxima?

Pretty sure the s60 is a Full size Elite with only 12 cu ft of trunk space.

Impala has 18 cu ft of trunk space and Taurus has 20 cu ft.

If the Maxima is rated premium with 14 cu ft of trunk space, those two cars also being premium makes sense.

It appears to be a combination of size, features, and general "prestige" of the car. As a point of fact Volvos are not PCARs, either. They are classified GXAR (fullsize elite) or UXAR (specialty elite).

EPA guidelines have nothing to do with the process. Those same guidelines classify the Bentley Continental GTC as a "subcompact," the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe as a "Compact" (it's longer than a Yukon), the enormous Audi A8 as a "midsize" and the BMW X1 (smallest SUV BMW makes) as a "large car."

Similarly, also labeled compact by the EPA include the VW Jetta (SCAR), the Toyota Corolla (ICAR), Buick Verano (SCAR), BMW 3 Series (GXAR), Mercedes C-Class (GXAR), and Cadillac ATS (LCAR).
