Wow! They are setting the bar low with $9.95 as the starting rate! You could combine with a $30 off week coupon to get a 5 day rental for $20 plus tax!

That's got to be a record early announcement, previously set by Avis a few Decembers ago.

Except that the T&C says you can't: "Offer cannot be combined with any other discounts, coupons, or promotional rates."

T&C does say this, but in the past coupons have worked. I guess time will tell!

So far way from now. Would like the timetable to be into June.

They rarely advertise for June anymore. When they did, demand became so high that they had to shut it down earlier than expected, and in some cases even exceeded the number of cars they wanted to dump.

When June is advertised, it's usually with Avis/Budget. The other companies will sometimes quietly match their rates, although usually from only a few large south FL airport locations.

Lately the rates have started at $19.95/day for fullsize. Then when the take almost inevitably remained too low, the companies battled each other down to $14/day, $12/day, and eventually settled on $9.95/day. So now National has apparently decided to just cut to the chase.

This is good in that people can make their travel plans earlier, and hopefully get cheaper/lower redemption level airfare, hotels, etc.

$140~ difference between the fullsize and getting a SUV for the drive out. Wonder what the fullsize selection there would be. Because I was thinking of a nice Standard SUV, but don't know if I would want to spend the extra money.

Why does it say it must be rented from a National location but returned to an Alamo location? I'm new with these so I might be missing something.

That was probably a typo. Someone at HQ probably just copied and pasted from a template, to change the dates and prices, but inadvertently pulled up the wrong one.

Do they want people to drop off at Alamo? Do they need cars in those two months?

Cross-brand contracts are not allowed, even though National, Alamo, and Enterprise tend to share the same facilities and fleet. Alamo and Enterprise have the same rates, but not a clickable advertisement for the FL driveout on their home page like National does.

Apparently JAX is excluded as is GNV ... would not have considered JAX a Florida Panhandle location

Based on a quick rate check, JAX airport is not excluded, but it seems the neighborhood store might be. GNV is excluded.

I was thinking about JAX to start off my journey back home in the drive out.
