They rarely advertise for June anymore. When they did, demand became so high that they had to shut it down earlier than expected, and in some cases even exceeded the number of cars they wanted to dump.
When June is advertised, it's usually with Avis/Budget. The other companies will sometimes quietly match their rates, although usually from only a few large south FL airport locations.
Lately the rates have started at $19.95/day for fullsize. Then when the take almost inevitably remained too low, the companies battled each other down to $14/day, $12/day, and eventually settled on $9.95/day. So now National has apparently decided to just cut to the chase.
This is good in that people can make their travel plans earlier, and hopefully get cheaper/lower redemption level airfare, hotels, etc.

$140~ difference between the fullsize and getting a SUV for the drive out. Wonder what the fullsize selection there would be. Because I was thinking of a nice Standard SUV, but don't know if I would want to spend the extra money.

Cross-brand contracts are not allowed, even though National, Alamo, and Enterprise tend to share the same facilities and fleet. Alamo and Enterprise have the same rates, but not a clickable advertisement for the FL driveout on their home page like National does.
