15,000 United Miles for New Chase Checking Account

It is the same as their other promos, requiring a direct deposit and use of a debit card.

You can use the less expensive $25 debit card and still qualify.

Remember to always refresh your browser before printing the coupon so you get a unique coupon code.

Here is the link

And as always, keep copies of everything

Does Chase run CHEX Systems (preferred by me) or do they pull a credit report before opening a checking account? I don't the extra inquiry on my credit report for just opening the checking account.

I inquired today at my WaMu branch about the Chase cards-they told me the roll out would be on Feb. 23rd for existing WaMu customers. They are planning on having Chase reps in the WaMu branches to assist customers.
I don't know if I will qualify for any bonus since I do not get paid via direct deposit.

I wonder if any ACH style deposit would work to qualify. It appears it only cares about the first direct deposit and first debit card transaction. I pay myself from my business account and just do an electronic transfer to my personal account. I am looking to open a new personal Chase account so this is attractive.

I took advantage of the promo with Continental (21000 for checking) and needed direct deposit, I don't have that option w/ my business but I do a 5.00 transfer into my Chase checking account every week from my ING Savings - it worked and has worked for the past year. I did get the bonus miles however it took me over a year to get them - they messed it up every single step of the way, wrong accounts, sent me the wrong bank card, had to call and "remind" them several times of what was originally offered. And ironically, I opened the account as a "trial" because I wanted to switch from Wamu to a better bank- they didn't do too good Make copies of everything - seriously.

What if I don't have any Chase or WaMu banks in the area / state? Can I do this via phone / web?

I'd ask a fellow FT'er to see if there is a hungry local employee looking to add new accounts when they are in applying.

Or call to find a branch that will do it by mail. I did my last CO/Chase deal that way.

Thanks ingy. I've never been able to take advantage of Chase offers before because they haven't had an office in my area. But now I can!

If only this promotion also covered WaMu checking accounts.

New WaMu accounts still include free checks and no direct deposit requirement, and my local branch tells me these features will be grandfathered in once the Chase transition is completed.

What are you saying? Won't a new WaMu/Chase checking acct., with direct deposit, meet the qualifications of the promo?

You still can't open the Chase checking account product at WaMu branches. You can only open the old Wamu Free Checking product that doesn't have the direct deposit requirement and includes Free Checks.

That product doesn't exist when you walk into an actual Chase branch. Chase checking accounts don't have free checks and have direct deposit requirements to remain free.

That's why I said it's a shame that the WaMu product won't be able to qualify since it's not a Chase checking product, it's the WaMu Free Checking account that Chase will eventually phase out.
