Wamu Branches to be added later this month

My understanding is WaMu branches will be added later this month as a previous poster suggests, and the promo runs til June.

As far as credit inquiry or simpler method, why not just pick up the phone, call and ask?

I recall doing a different Chase (cash bonus) promo that allowed me to open the checking account online sometime last year. I can't locate the deal now but I believe I got the link from SD. I only needed to mail in the paperwork for signature card etc.

Not sure if there's a similar link to open the account online with the UA miles. If not, just do what ingy suggested: call and ask. Maybe some branches will allow the mail-in route.

That's not correct.

Chase does have checking accounts with free checks/direct deposit. You just have to open the "right" checking account. I used to have a "Workplace Checking Account" with Chase that offered free checks and required direct deposit.

If you are current Chase customer, any additional accounts is chex system and soft pull. If you do NOT have any accounts with Chase at the time of account opening, a Chex system and hard inquiry will be pulled.

Starting now, any new accounts open up at WaMu will have Chase branded debit cards, however Chase branches will still be unable to pull up your WaMu accounts until transition is complete for your state.

States with both WaMu/Chase now have Chase shared branches with both WaMu/Chase employees present.

For states with WaMu only, I believe there is no Chase employees present.

Or call to find a branch that will do it by mail. I did my last CO/Chase deal that way.
You can also open up your accounts online! Just make sure you add the coupon code.

Is this generally true for being a new customer at most any financial institution? I was thinking of opening a U.S. Bank checking account for the 5,000 WP mile bonus on its attached card but if there will be a hard pull, not sure if it is worth it. Rather save the hard pulls for more substantial returns.

Really? Have you ever done that with this (or the CO offer) & actually received the miles? It was my understanding based on the Continental Offer that you had to physically go to the branch to successfully get the points, or have a banker at the branch help you out...

So has anyone actually received these miles by simply signing up online & entering the coupon code.

I'm currently a Chase VISA United card holder. Does anyone know if current card members can get the 15K by also opening a checking account or is this only for brand new Chase clients?

When I clicked on the link and read the small print, I saw that current Chase customers are eligible.

My issue: a so called direct deposit.

Attn: FT bankers!

Is an EFT from my spouse's govt benefits good enough? It's tough enough to talk him into it; but, worth it if say a $100.00 a month electronic deposit into the account would suffice as direct deposit. It used to be called an "allotment".

Is this confirmed that only current Chase BANK customers are eligible?
What if u did CO offer last year, how long do u have to wait? What if u did WAMU $100 offer in Jan, would it matter? Can u do new CO and UA Chase BANK offers at same time?

To the Best of My Knowledge you can do one personal and one business offer each calendar year. I have been successful with that schedule.

Where did you get that idea from? Here is the link again- https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?...&ID=0000009116 I'm guessing they are trying to attract new customers.

So you could use the promo to open a personal account and get 15k miles and then again use the same promo to open a business account and get 15k more miles? Or mix and match with Continental offer?

NO. Neither the CO or UA offers are Business account offers. They are both offers for opening personal accounts.

Google "Chase Business Checking offers" or check Fatwallet or Slickdeals. They may have one.

Tried to open an account online. The code generated from their website is not being accepted. Plus using a chase credit card for funding the opening balance of $100 is going to be treated as a cash advance.

This bank seriously sucks!
