WOW, good to know....

I do have a Citi AAdvantage Business Credit card.

If it will get deposited then all is fine, how can I confirm this? They said I should go to the branch. Is that a waste of time as well?

Thank you

Thanks guys, I didn't know you had to have a Card from them. Good thing I do. I just saw it on FT and thought I would go for the offer.

How can they link the 20k miles to my AAdvantage account?
Since this offer is only for Citi AAdvantage card holders, they can simply match your social security number to your AAdvantage number. There's no need for you to tell them; they already know.

A method can be found in posting #306.

Then you will need to work with AA to get your both accounts merged.

If not, the offer is not applicable to you. There would be no points to deposit.

Okay, I happened to drive by the bank today. Their "Legacy Rewards" checking account has no monthly fees, free checks, free billpay, online banking, etc and if you meet a couple of simple criteria (debit card use, online statement, and 1 billpay/direct deposit), you get 5.01% interest on your checking account balance.

Looks like they require 10 ATM/debit card uses per month. Doesn't sound that simple to me...

Thanks anyway!

I'm thinking of jumping in on this offer, but have 3 questions.

1). I must have a 6K balance in the account to avoid the fees? That's fine, I have the money just sitting earning 1.3% in an ING account. The fees vs the lost interest balance out basically. (These plans certainly suck for the average consumer!)

2). Was thinking of funding with my AA Citi Visa Signature. My CA limit is 3800 (I know to call and set that to 0) with a credit limit of 12,500. Am I limited to 3800 in funding? Even without a limit, lets say I did 10,000....I am really not sure if it is worth the hassle for the extra 10K miles. If we were talking 50K, sure, but I definitely do not have any amount like that liquid. Think I already talked myself out of this one haha...

3). Should I do it online or over the phone? I have a branch nearby too. I just did the Chase Continental 25K mile at a branch, and that was relatively painless and the miles posted fast. Seems like Citi isn't as easy to work with.

Thanks, just don't want this to turn into some huge nightmare. I have enough problems between work and grad school

I faxed my funding over two weeks ago and sent in my signature card, one week ago & still no funding as of yet. I called on Thursday and they said they have everything and funding should take place in 24-48 hours. If no funding by Thursday I am staying on the phone until the charge goes through.

If unsuccessful on that phone call, I am just going to open up a savings account via the phone fund that with my AA Plat. M/C and transfer $$ into the checking account. If AA M/C doesn't work I use my Priority Club Visa signature via Chase. 10,000 AA points if $15K stays in the savings for 3 months, plus the 20,000 bonus signup points. So if I fund the $17,500 plus the 10,000 ( savings ) & 20,000 ( checking ) point bonuses = 47,500 points - hey puts me @ 150K mark in points in one year ! Never really did airlines points before, just hotel points - so I am a newbie.

ps: any issues with using a Chase Visa Signature card to fund the account and posting as a purchase ?

Thanks, Kyletrems

You can fund it on AA card only up to your cash advance limit. It will be a purchase though.

And even then, it can take up to 120 days after the year to get the miles to post.

I opened the checking account last year in Oct, still have not received the 2nd 10k miles. I wonder how much longer should I wait till I escalate the matter? I have called, and after a lengthy explanation of what the original offer it, all I got was it will be posted and I didnt care to push it forward hoping it will. The first 10k posted soon after 3 months, so was hoping the same with this.

IIRC, my offer was actually after the 9th month this will work (not 12 months). So its been 12 months since already. I am guessing its gonna post anytime now or never until intervention.

Received my first installment of 10K miles.

My one ACH push each month was from ING in the amount of $5.00.

It seems norm for many citi promos that have a timeframe attached to it.

I had some TYP referral bonuses posted 18 months after the successful referrals!
