Sorry if I'm asking an obvious question. Is there still an offer going for 20k miles to set up a Citibank checking account? I can't find any current offers online.

I received a targeted offer for 20K AA miles in the USPS mail today, and another household member received 4 identical ones...total 5 envelopes in one day The offer code is C2AF.
"Earn up to 20,000 American Airlines AAdvantage bonus miles when you open an eligible Citibank regular checking account."
To summarize, perhaps with errors:
1. Open acct w/ $1000 or more by 11/30/09
2. To get 10K bonus miles, within "first month" of opening acct., do one of these each month for 3 consecutive months:
a) 1 monthly direct deposit
b) 2 electronic bill pays
c) 5 signature buys w/ debit card
2. Continue for 9 more months to get extra 10K miles.
I am puzzled by an offer of "up to" 4K additional miles on the same page if you "open your regular Citibank checking account and choose the Citibank / AAdvantage debit card." I do not know how that fits into the offer.
In the instructions to Personal Banker:
"...offer is only available to...who received this mailing." They are told to select the customer's name from a drop-down menu of eligible persons.

If you get the Citibank AAdvantage debit card you will get an additional 4K of miles. However, cost depends on the amount of your balance.
How long has it taken for miles from this to post.
I know the T&C say "Up to 120 days" but I hate keeping a large balance in the checking accounts or on my CC's. I'd rather not have to pay $11.50/month for 7 months to get these miles.

It is a minimum of 210 days for the initial 10K to show up. Remember, you need to keep the account active for 3 months (which I believe is really 3 FULL billing cycles). It can then take 120 days after that.
Does anyone have ANY other offer that is not targeted to open citibank checking account? I don't care if it is for Miles or for cash...
Thanks in advance.
I frequently received targeted email offer for 20K ThankYou points for opening a regular checking account (can be opened online / phone / branch). The offer comes like every month.
However, to avoid monthly fee, the minimum balance for a regular checking account is quite high, like 6K, if I remember it correctly.
Plus, you do sacrifice a hardpull to open a Citi banking account.
I found a promo code CE47 for citi checking, which gives $100 sign up bonus. Sorry I don't know details and don't have link.
I've seen quite a few deals pop up lately about checking accounts that pay miles and most seem to charge fees unless you have a minimum balance or use direct deposit. I'm curious of how little the minimum direct deposits can be?
My employer pays me twice monthly and I'm curious if i open several of these accounts, if i can shave off a little bit of each paycheck and route to these accounts to fill that requirement... does anyone know?
Thank you,
Kevin <--- FT newbie... please be gentle

Based on my friend and my experience last year, no hard pull if no "overdraw protection" or "checking plus". However, both us are Citi CC holders so not sure if it make difference or not.
Has anyone found a way to get around the direct deposit requirement? Can you set up a recurring deposit from another account and have that count? I don't currently have any direct deposits or bills so those requirements are going to be hard to meet (and I'm not in the US every month so can't make 5 sigs)
