If you are interested in getting more miles on OneWorld, then Cathay Pacific is most generous mileage program and it runs from the time you open an account with them for 12 months.
What concerns the promotions to get the miles, AA is the best bearing in mind such extras as credit card or shopping....

Also, AA is a much more generous program than QF in many respects. However, OF is very stingy in upgrades and other perks for non-QF flyers. Earn/Burn is much better on AA then any of the programs down here...QF evidently treats their own high status flyers fairly well, but with over 1.2m on AA, it is difficult for me to switch at this point...
You can also purchase QC membership that gets you into the lounges. If you are flying Biz, then you have access anyway....
Hi! Probably this has been asked before. Im DC *A Gold and have some AA business class tickets booked early next year. I will like to know if there is any chance of Status Match with AA (if not which OW FF program will do so)
Thank you

Probably not.
AA offers a paid challenge that will get you Gold for 5K EQPs and PLT for 10K EQPs (not miles) Being in J that might be a good option. see the AA forum stickies for more info.
OW recently has a status match in Italy.

Any status match?
I'm frustrated by OneWorld because I have flown 4 transatlantic flights this year on OneWorld carriers (alas, 3 on Iberia) and a sprinkling of North America flights on AA, and I can't even make it to silver status in AAdvantage.
I'm platinum on both CO and DL, so I'd love a OneWorld status match. Especially for the club access.
Does anyone has any experience with a status match at Mexicana?
I took some flights earlier this year with them, and I'm CO Silver. More Mexico flights to come...
Not sure if this was covered already, but I found out that my company will get a status match to one of our preferred airlines (e.g., UA) for holders of status on other airlines. Apparently they execute this through our corporate travel provider - AMEX in this case. Might be a good option for those of you at companies with large enough contracts with a travel provider.
I'll probably save my match from AA Platinum to something else until I'm forced to change my travel habits or have a lot of international flights on a different carrier.
To pre-empt the questions, I don't know if it is the same travel matches you can get on your own -- e.g., UA elite challenge where you have to fly a certain amount in a certain time. But I sincerely hope not.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has executed this through AMEX and what was the experience...
Has CO officially stopped matching to Platinum from UA 1K? Is it part of the *A agreement they signed? Has anyone tried and been denied? I thought I last heard someone got matched last month...
