I recently just learned of this deal, and jumped right on it! Today I picked up my first large batch (about 50 pounds). The guys at UPS wondered what was in the boxes and asked if it was ammo. I said nope!
I wasn't sure how my WF branch would react, so I brought in four boxes. The teller was very friendly, and a couple of other tellers came over to see what was going on. I was quite frank and told them I ordered them from the mint to earn airline miles. They smiled, and happily accepted four boxes. He was so glad to help, he said bring in as many boxes as I wanted. So I went back out to the car and brought in 25 pounds worth. Again, he happily smiled and said don't hesitate to bring in more anytime!
So tomorrow I'll take over another 25 pounds. And I ordered another large collection from the mint tonight. Even though this branch was very accomodating, I will distribute the load between a few branches. In fact, the tellers might even get in on the deal they were so impressed with the transaction.
Just had a deposit that took way way to long at Bank of America in Arizona and talk with the FBI. I think Bank of America hates these dollar coins and Bank of America issued a fake alert to try and put a stop to the deposits which are perfectly legitimate. The story I recieved was that 3,000 was stolen recently in Native American coin. I deposited 2,500 and that was the trigger. Quite frankly I do not give a darn about BofA who we bailed out with tax payer money but I have no desire to waste time of the FBI which I believe has important work to do.
why didnt you go for the Gold and deposit 5k at 1 time, that way ATF and CIA could have gotten involved
after all its US Coins and the Bank cant refuse to take it as so many on here have posted. Lets everyone go in with $9,999 just to irate the banks and show them who's Boss

Probably not the best idea to tell them A) that you are getting a cash advance for free and B) you're earning free points and/or miles.

New charges by ups
BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING CHARGES BY UPS
1. To reschedule delivery to a future day, they charge $6 per box.
2. To change the delivery address, they charge $6 per box PLUS a fuel surcharge. They wouldn't tell me the fuel fee (across town) unless I went all the way through with the booking!
I think it's absurd (the fees started Monday the 13th)! Especially for any orders that were placed before the 13th. From now on, I'll just have them try to deliver 3 times & ship them back to The Mint if I can't be home or be able to pick them up from the local facility (30 mins away).

If the Mint kept on schedule it would be easy to beable to figure out when the goods should arrive. Its when they get behind that all hope is lost.
could be UPS is heading into bad times and like the Airlines wants to start up with feeing us to death.
Next it will be a door delivery fee, unless we go to the truck. guess they made a sweet deal with the Mint never expecting what they got hit with. After all who orders pkgs from the Mint that weighs alot

I think it's silly. They'll still attempt delivery three times. Now, in the past, if I knew I wouldn't be around on the next day, I'd reschedule delivery for the following day. That would now cost $4-6. Instead, for free, I can have them come both days.

Yup, now they can waste their time carrying the 50-lb packages all the way up my drive way and back to their truck three times before I head to their site to pick-it up if I'm not gonna be in town.
I'm not sure this is much of a breakthrough. The coin counters seem to have a limited capacity, maybe 100 $1 coins. The bank staff will have to come and change the bags constantly if you try to make a meaningful deposit. This is only useful for unloading a few rolls at a time. Of course, that can help make some dent in a backlog of coins.
The machine at my bank handled $500 without a problem. Tomorrow I try to double that. The quickest way for me to get the coins out of the roll is to just run a blade along the side. Then I can peel off the paper off at once. Watched tv and unrolled enough for a couple trips to the bank.

No reason to worry, it is all logical and NOTHING can kill this deal. It is "fool-proof".....

My WF bank just took the rolls in their boxes after looking under the top tray to verify each roll was $25. I'd hate to unwrap all of them and create more work for the bank.

My predicament is this -- I want Diamond status with Hilton before a trip and my Hilton Surpass AmEx comps me Diamond after $40k in annual spending. Right now, I'm only a few thousand away from that in annual spend, but my billing cycle ends on 7/19 and I'm not sure I'll get the status in time if I don't have $5k in spending hit my account in the next four days.
Thoughts?!
My latest one posted on the same date the coins arrived. I think it was close to two weeks after I placed the order. I think it's highly unlikely that you'll get it posted before your billing cycle ends.
If you hit $40k mid-month, though, just call up AmEx and ask them to send your YTD spend over to Hilton. I'm in a similar situation (I'll hit $40k YTD sometime in the next week or so, but I have a couple stays starting before my billing cycle ends), and they told me that they have the ability to do that.

Im not sure which it is either 3 no gos on delivery or 1 week at the base which will have UPS ship them back
But why not do as I have, I simply use my Banks address as mine and UPS delivers it straight to the bank for me no schelping on my part. I use 1 of the tellers cell # as mine and she is aware that a delivery will be made and does it all for me, every so often I drop off a box of chocolates
