Double miles with CO cards are no longer the best

Double miles (20 miles/$) through CO's shopping portal with CO cards are no longer the best deal to purchase flowers. Purchase through UA's shopping portal can earn 25 miles/$. However, one has to register the credit/debit cards about 48 hours in advance of purchase.

Not any more. Read carefully before you post. Those offers were for Mother's Day and are now expired. The current offer is 25 SkyMiles per dollar for BOTH.

Is it that time of year already?

Delta is offering 25 miles per dollar spent at FTD, 20 at a couple of the others.

United's
one better, at 30 miles per dollar.

US Airways is an embarrassing 10-15 miles per dollar.

American is matching US Airways at 10-15.

If you want hotel points, I've listed them all here. With a few exceptions, namely Choice and Wyndham, the airline offers tend to be better.

Ultimate Rewards Mall:

FTD - 10 pts/$
ProFlowers - 15pts/$
1800Flowers - 15pts/$
teleflora - 10pts/$
KaBloom - 15pts/$
Garderners Supply Company - 6pts/$
1800Baskets - 10pts/$

Problem for me is FTD 1800flowers usually screw up. I prefer calling a florist directly, but there's no bonus points for that.

Does that mean that UR mall is essentially offering 15% back? I forget how that one works.

Say you spend $100 at FTD - you would get 100pts in your statement from the straight purchase, plus 1000pts from using the UR mall. Not sure if the yearly 7% bonus applies to both or just the purchase points.

Great, thanks. Since those points are worth about a penny apiece (more or less), that's about an 11% rebate.

Yeesh they all have ridiculous surcharges. Don't know if it's worth the miles I'll get.

With one caveat: many of these flower sellers seem to have higher rates for shopping through a rebate link or CC rewards mall.

For example, a Teleflora purchase I made over Christmas was between $3-6 more expensive when checking out through Ebates or UR Mall than by clearing my browser and placing an order through their own website directly.

The added cost may be worth the ridiculous 10-20+ miles/$ bonuses, but it pays to check first!

Don't know if it is still available but I ordered flowers last week from 1-800-Flowers thru the AA website at 25miles/$. The link was directly on the website under the AAdvantage tab News and Offers, not AAdvantage Shopping which was I think 10miles/$.
