It seems that sometimes the ENT rate is the lowest at some hotels, and at some brands you get stay credits( ie: Hyatt), some you do not(ie:Hilton). Could we start a master list:
1-Very low rate ENT rates at the major chains. One example is Hyatt Dallas at $44.50 on some days.
2- Experiences as to which major chain gave you stay credit and how? I had very good stay credit success with Hyatt ENT stays.

SPG, Hyatt and Marriott Family properties all will award stay credit and point credit.
Hilton family properties will do neither.
Have no idea re InterContinental/Holiday Inn -- but who cares, anyway !
Up until a year or two ago, I used to buy a new Entertainment book every year. I bought the worldwide hotel directory directly from Entertainment or from a bookstore as opposed to those regional books, (with a limited hotel directory,) sold buy local organizations. A hotel's Entertainment rate, which I usually got about half the time, was by far the lowest rate I could find for many hotels back then. But I stopped buying the guide since I can usually do better now with Travelocity, Expedia, Quickbook, etc. Also, the last several times I tried to book the Entertainment rate, I was given rates that were the same as AAA rates.

Where Are My Bonus Miles?
I just stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Worcester, Ma and received Priority Club points and free breakfast each day. Had the Entertainment card for their lowest rate. $54.50 per night w/out 12% taxes

Wierd - I've only done two Holiday Inn stays in the past few years, and both were on the ENT rate. I am set up to earn miles from Priority Club, and the miles posted quickly to my FF account.
The location (both stays) was the Orlando Staybridge Suites. The ENT rate was around $110 for a 2-bedroom apartment which I would say is "almost Residence Inn" quality. Best non-ENT rates for the unit were in the $130 range. It is a place I would return to. (The local R.I. is always $180+ for a 2-bdrm, and you can't exactly Priceline these kinds of units.)

So with that...It's just probably the individual hotels acting stubborn...

It could be: from what I've read on these boards, it sounds like Holiday Inns (and other Priority Club properties) tend to be more...individualistic...when it comes to the terms of their program than, say, Marriott or Hyatt.
