Thank you for this information. I've been looking for an excuse to sign up for VX.

Look at points.com.

I exchange 100 points from a local gas station program(worth $1) for 36 elevate points. It resets my expiration by 18 months every time.

Awful exchange rates unless you have useless points, but it is worth $1 every 18 months to retain miles.

Works for IHG also. Used to work for frontier, but not any more. F9 is crazy about trying to force points expirations.

Yup, Also, while I don't expect to use them as Elevate miles, they will presumably get transferred into my AS account at some point.

Thanks, OP!

Learn all our dirty little secrets. ??

Get the “hook-ups” at Virgin Hotels with Exclusive Grand Opening offers from cities like New York, Dallas, Palm Springs, San Francisco and Los Angeles. And Virgin America is sweetening the deal with 500 bonus Elevate points.

Cheers,
Virgin America

Any idea how fast they post? (not that I ever fly them, but perhaps I could build up a balance with them to transfer elsewhere).

It seems a lot of programs these days are giving out miles just for signing up for emails. Amtrak did it just a couple weeks ago - offer might still be valid.

This is what I am hoping for, too. And, wish all points/miles were this easy to accrue.
