A friend participated in this promotion last month and hopes to use these points to prevent an AAdvantage account from expiring. Scheduled expiration is June 6, 2015. Points are promised to post within 6-8 weeks of promotion... which could be too late, right? If posting date is retroactive to date of activity, friend is all set, as the posting of the points with a backdated date would restore his account. But that's probably too much to hope for...

Correct, that was clearly mentioned on the T&C of promotion.
Yes, that sounds about right, 6-8 weeks after promotion is over.
Not yet, as mentioned before, points will start posting 6-8 weeks after promotion is over, this is not the proper time frame. I'm sure that once miles start posting other will comment on it on FT. We will get numerous postings of "Points posted" or "I got mine last night" No sense on commenting if anyone got their miles when it is not the time yet, and as in previous similar promotions, it is best to wait and see when others say that they finally got their points. They will probably post in batches, mostly based on the date you did the promo.

WHAT, and deny 1,711 Flyertalker's from getting to add to their total historical post total, by posting substantive comments like, "mine haven't posted yet" or "no miles here", after a zillion posts saying the exact same thing???????????
