Yep, I actually keep track of which clerk(s) allows purchases using CC. I make it a point to always go to one of the "clean" clerks.

This deal is apparently still on for MC only, over $100 through 10/13, according to FW.
No luck at my local Safeway on purchasing with a CC today though, so can't confirm.

Just got two $500 Visa cards from Vons using my new Citi ThankYou Premier card, no problem. I have bought five $500 Visa cards this round in total. I found it is better than the MasterCard since it can be linked as a debit card on Serve. According to the flyer in my local store, the promotion will end on 10/9 and the $10 coupon will expire on 10/18. So, hurry up!

Everytime I buy one of these the clerk calls the manager who calls someone in the back room who confirms I can buy with CC. The best part is that it's the same manager every time.

I finally found a Safeway clerk today who didn't stop me from using a CC to purchase two $100 GC's. Then I tried it again with another clerk, which was also successful.
On my two previous visits, at two different stores, they wouldn't let me use a CC -- which was the whole point. I read that gift cards over $100 may require manager approval, so I decided to try those instead of a larger amount. And I went to clerks who probably recognize me from my occasional visits to Safeway over the past several years.
My coupons expire 10/23.

Got my final 2 $500 GCs along with 2 $10 coupons. Good $80 in coupons... not bad..

I bought 16 of them today... all in $100 denominations.
So, do have to buy $160 worth of groceries within the next 2 weeks.
Fraud alert kicked in on transaction #7, despite the fact I warned them I would be running a bunch of transactions for the $105.95 amount. Fraud alert did say 'we're sorry, we do see the notes on the account, here's 5000 AAdvantage miles for your trouble'...
Since this is not the first time it has happened, I actually try to push it until fraud alert hits.

Got a $500 one yesterday and today, after doing just $100 ones for the coupon. Told cashier that its the last day of the deal, she said she finally figured out yesterday what I was doing 
Tempted to go get another $500 one ... still 3 hours left. US Bnk must think all I do is shop for really expensive groceries.

I just bought 2x $200 MC gift cards but only got one $10 Vons certificate. I though I'd get 2. Is the offer only one at a time? The store manager told me I'm not supposed to use cc to buy gc, so I didn't want to make a big deal about getting only 1 coupon.

Need individual transactions. If you stack them up in one transaction, only one coupon will be printed. 10/09/12 is the last day to get this deal.
