[Expired]Alaska Air Visa - 40K bonus

This is a new offer being reported today. 40,000 sign up bonus for the Alaska Airlines Visa. Some people saying it may be targeted. Here's the link:

Bank of America card.
$75 annual fee, not waived.
40,000 miles "upon approval", which I guess means no minimum spend.
Looks good!

Caution on BofA:

If BofA deems you do not qualify for the offer (assuming it is a Visa Signature requiring minimum 5K credit line), it will issue you a lower grade card and the bonus is slashed.

No bank does this except BofA.

Just applied and was "approved" with a whopping $1000 line. This might be an immediate cancel if the 40K miles (and companion cert) isn't forthcoming, considering no waiver of the annual fee.

Just curious, what kind of scores do you have? Were you targeted? Also, do you have other credit lines with BoA? BoA can be stingy. I have upper 700 scores and the last time I applied for the Alaska cards they only gave me 5K (personal) and 5K (business).

Sorry, I should've clarified: I was not targeted. I don't know what my scores are currently, they were in the upper 700s when I checked last year but I've had a lot of apps since then, including 12K and 10K with Chase (BA/UA) and 10K each with Citi (AA Visa/Amex). No prior anything with BoA. Maybe this is a sign that I should stop this madness?

this is good .. Alaska and partner redemptions are usually a good deal

i'm prepping for an AOR/CC churn next week and already have a BOA CC on my list. I want to add this to the mix .. any specific guidance on applying and getting approved for two BOA cards on the same day

.. anything like the two browser trick for american advantage cards??

Wife and I have gotten two bonuses each but we waited about 2 years after canceling cards. This was in 2004 and 2007.

This offer is targeted but we all know that doesn't always mean much.

Discussion also going on here.

I'll probably go with the Virgin Atlantic easy 50K good on CO & US instead as it ends 6/30.

This one ends 7/30 so I'll wait till then.

I assume being BofA the biz card carries the standard bonus.

Nice to see BofA and Barclays upping their bonus a little.

I have one and am wondering if I could ask them to give me more miles to meet the new 40k bonus. I have had mine since 2009 and may have received like 20k and so probably not but it may be worth a try?
