5 days? Wow - that's quick! When did you find out your CL and did you have any contact with a Chase CSR between 5/2 and today?

The CL was on the Chase banking web site on 5/4

Only contact with Chase was today when I called to activate the card

Okay, I need to vent! I applied on 5/3/2011 and received a message that I was Approved and my card would arrive within 2 weeks!!! However, when I called today, they mentioned that my application is actually "pending!!!"

Today, I talked to a CSR rep and was then transferred to a senior account specialist and neither of them could tell me what happened. I'm really ticked off and all they could communicate to me was whatever rebuttals they've memorized.

Unfortuantely for me - I didn't take a screen shot. Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips to overcome this? Is there a particular department I should call?

***EDIT***
Thanks to The Points guy ... If you get “pending” or “denied” you can call 1-888-245-0625 and review your application with a rep ...

I called the number and the CSR said that the pending status is due to partner (British Airways) setup. "From what she can tell," I was accepted and she gave me my Credit Limit over the phone. However, she did ask if I had a printout of the acceptance page as if she didn't believe me ... oh well.

I think there are posts in this thread that basically say that until the card mails it is listed as pending. Check your account page on Chase and see if the card is listed.

You have nothing to worry about. Same thing happened to me. Instant approval but then they say pending. It took maybe 10 days to clear the pending status but you'll get your card.

As to what an agent explained to me, your approved for the card, the pending is just while they are verifying the information with BA.

I applied for the card in April, but got the denial letter in the mail - too many apps I believe. I don't have the letter any more, but how many days do you have to call in for reconsideration?

Just call and don't give up, I was denied last year for to many recent apps, called for reconsideration, denied, called again denied, but on the third call they split my credit limit with another card and presto 100K miles!

Received the card today. Made the first purchase tonight. Counting the days to the first 50K!

Just check my Chase account online and the BA card is finally showing up. Had to send them a copy of my social securiy card, but for 100k miles I'll take it. Now just waiting on the card.....

I applied on April 16th and called them on around 25th April. It was recommended for approval on 26th and I haven't received anything since then. Does anybody know if there is a way to expedite the card? I need to make a few big purchases and it will really help.

Looking good - called this morning, and after asking me why I was opening so many airline credit cards (CO, UA and now BA) they lowered the credit limit on the UA card and are sending the paperwork through to BA.

You can ask them to overnight the credit card. I applied online May 4, 2011 but found out it was denied because of my credit freeze. I thought I didn't need to temporarily lift freeze since I have UA chase credit card account with them. May 5, 2011, credit pulled on Equifax and they said looking good. Now they are waiting for BA frequent flier number and said they have an account for me already. Told me to call Monday or Tuesday and ask for overnight since I need it within 7 days before going on vacation.

Just got off phone with CSR. They said my card is approved and I will be receiving a welcome package within 7 to 10 business days. I asked to have it overnight to me which they will within 2 business days.

I called to try to get a fee waiver and said I was under the impression that the $95 was to be waived. The rep gave me the BS about how great the card was and said if I want she can can submit a request to the marketing department to have them look at it. I wasn't getting anywhere with them so I said fine, and 2 seconds later she said she put in a request and I'd hear back in 10 to 14 days.

Anyone else get this "marketing department" line? I'm sure it won't do any good.

And why on earth should they be waiving the fee for you? Prey do tell. I think it has been pretty clear it is not waived, and with 100k points, zero foreign transactions fees, option to get 2-4-1 for spend requirement - er, it is no BS that this is a great card.
