Anyone had trouble getting the 3,000 bonus miles for this promo with Avis and AA? I used my corporate AWD with the coupon code and they're trying to tell me can't get miles with the corporate AWD, which I have been getting miles for about 15 years every time. Promo indicates "offer may not be used with any other coupon, promotion or offer except your AWD discount." Seems pretty clear to me I should be able to use any AWD and still get the bonus miles.

Not all AWDs allow for the earning of FF miles. There are many corp AWDs like this. The Farmers corp code that is so popular over in the Avis forum does not allow for FF earning (FTR, the savings are usually so high that I gladly forego the FF miles).

Qs: Did you get the base miles with your corp AWD but no bonus? Did you get charged the FF miles surcharge? Is there a chance that your corp recently renewed the AWD with Avis but disallowed for earning of FF miles?

Here is a typical problem. An employee earns miles. The FF surcharge is added. The employee turns in the total receipt for reimbursement. Someone in accounting for the company starts to notice that this FF surcharge is optional and not a tax, fee, fuel charge, surcharge, tire disposal fee, etc. It's actually easier to get Avis to disallow earning FF miles (and thus avoiding the FF mile surcharge) than to have the accounting department reject expense reports where the employee "forgot" to deduct the FF surcharge from the amount to be reimbursed. I can hardly blame a company for not wanting to pay outright for employee FF miles. When it's part of the ticket fare, no problem. When it's a line item additional charge... big problem.

Try using no coupon code and just settling for the base miles. If you get them and are charged the FF surcharge then your company is NOT disallowing for FF accrual. But if not, you are outta luck I'm afraid.

FTR, the IRS does not consider the FF miles surcharge from renting cars as a valid deductible business expense. If you get audited you could owe money.

I recently completed the first of several in a series of rentals under this offer that I want to use to get another Southwest Airlines award. However, even though my confirmation clearly shows the corp. code 4XCHASE (I used that one simply because it is easier to remember) I only got 0.5 credits for a 3 day rental at IAH. Anyone else have recent success / failure with this code? If I am not going to get the RR credit bonus I need to rethink most of these rentals - I think you have to pay $6 extra for a weekly rental earning half a credit worth maybe 6 to 8 dollars, a pretty useless offer.

Also, if you have been shortchanged, have you had success getting it fixed by calling Alamo?
