this is a fantastic thread. I do have a question. In the fidelity program terms, there is wording that it is a once in a lifetime. However, there is no such rule in the ameritrade term. I am curious whether the ameritrade promo could be repeated in the future, if such program happens again in 10 months. This ongoing program requires the maintenance of deposit for 9 months. It would be great if I could take another one afterwards.

Look at this thread:

And you will find out more about TDAmeritrade by doing a search on FT for other threads.

Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum. I was looking at this deal and it seems amazing. So I wanted to confirm a couple things:

1) So there is no minimum required? I was looking at the terms and I didn't see anything about having a minimum amount?

2) Putting in deposits and accumulating them up to $100,000 will get me 50,000 miles right? So right now I only have 20,000 for deposit. Could I deposit $500 at first and then keep depositing and withdrawing $19,5000 until I get up to $100,000?

Thanks for everybody's help in advance.

Has anyone received the new large promo miles with new deposit with new account, or without ( deposit new money in existing account) opening a new account and get all these big promo miles?

Yes, we have. Read the earlier posts in the thread if you need details.

Can anyone confirm if recycling works for obtaining the bonus?

'new account opening with deposit recycling'.

Any ft'er have recent success (august '10/september '10/october '10) in opening new fidelity account with small deposit, then recycling larger deposit amounts to equal final figure and receiving desired bonus?

I'm looking to do one of the following:

Scenario #1

Initial Deposit +500
Second Dep +20,000
Withdraw -20,000
Third Dep +20,000
Withdraw -20,000
Fourth Dep +10,000
Receive 25,000 bonus miles
Withdraw -10,000
Six months balance of +500
Close account after six month minimum period

Scenario #2

Initial Deposit +50,000
Receive 25,000 bonus miles
Withdraw -49,500
Six months balance of +500
Close account after six month minimum period

Will either scenario be sufficient to receive 25k bonus miles?

I've been looking to move some 403b money out of a former employer account and went to Fidelity last Friday for help. I just got an email that a Fidelity Rollover IRA has been established for me. Earlier this week, I also got the AA email about the AA bonus miles for opening a non-retirement fidelity account. I spoke with the investment rep today and he seemed to think he could help me get the bonus on the new Rollover IRA account if I could come up with the enough to make the $25K minimum to get the 15K miles.

Pardon my ignorance, but is a Rollover IRA a non-retirement account? I don't know if I can come up with the remainder of the money to hit $25K for the mileage bonus until after I do my taxes for the year.
