I put in $2500 at end of December, got 2500 miles right away but haven't seen the other half. Anyone else experience this?

Can confirm that the 25k points just posted to my Amex MR account.

Entire process took less than 2 weeks, and 2 phone calls to Fidelity.

Easiest 25k points I've gotten in a long time.

Just an update for anyone still thinking about this offer. It took me 15-20 minutes to set-up a Fidelity account and transfer $10k into that account. I did that last week on Thursday. I checked my AA account yesterday and was already credited with the 15k miles. It was very easy.

Is rrotation strategy to deposit $50K for 25k miles working?

I am planning to open a fidelity account soon. I don't have $50k to tieup. I am planning to open with $10k and leave a minimum of 10k through 6 months while rotating $14k in and out 3 times. Has anyone else been successful getting 25k miles this way recently? As I see it, this offer only really pays off if you can get about 1.5% return on the $10k for six months. This is about what you could get in a 6 month Ally Bank CD. Do any experienced investers have a recommendation for a low risk 1.5% annual return investment through Fidelity for a six month term? Someone recommended to me Tennesse Valley Authority Bonds, although I don't know if they would be available through Fidelity or if they would require a longer term investment.

I churned the money in and out and got the 25K posted in 1 month... 15K up front and the extra 10K posted 2 days after my last deposit. If you are worried about the 6 month requirement I would just leave 1K in the account for 6 months. Not sure they could pull the miles back if you just closed the account though?

I know TD Ameritrade has basically the same 25k points offer that Fidelity does....

Does anyone know if TD Ameritrade can credit the points to my Amex MR account? or do they only offer it for AAdvantage?

Better Option with TD would be to get SPG points. They give 20K SPG pts with 25K balance.

Does this follow with the terms of retaining the "qualifying funding" ? Thats really my only concern with this method. Keeping a nominal balance wouldn't' be a problem, however I can't justify keeping 10k in the account.

One thought - Perhaps you can put in a "qualifying" balance of 2,500. Then churn through enough to earn the higher rewards, while retaining the 2,500 for the 6 month duration?

I think the Starwood promotion is the best available from TD Ameritrade. For $25k opening deposit you get 20,000 SPG points(10,000 immediately and 10,000 after 6 months) which in turn can be converted to 25,000 airline miles of your choice. SPG gives a bonus of 5k miles with every 20k miles transfer.

Fidelity needs $50k to get 25,000 miles and you are limited only to AA/UA/DL miles from what I know.

Your best bet would one of the Exchange Traded Funds that tracks the bond markets. I would look to Vanguard as they have a very very low fee structure. The benefits of ETFs being that there is no minimum purchase requirement, and you can trade out of the position at any time. https://personal.vanguard.com/us/funds/etf/bytype some info on a few there. They also offer a variety of index funds. With some diversification simply in ETF's I think you could easily acheive 1.5 % with little risk, barring no collapse in the global economy in the next 6 months....

I totally agree, but AFAIK, you have to keep the money in TD Ameritrade for 9 months even though you get the second installment of points in 6.

I echo the many thanks for this great summary! Question - are there are partner relationships with E-trade or any other similar discount online brokerage houses?
