Good. So I can postpone my plans of killing myself.
I'm booked on HKG-MUC in February.

In general the rule of thumb in outstation-germany flights is to order/select stuff that is native to the origin. So when flying from India I eat the indian selection. Anything else just leads to disappointment.

C'mon, LH C meals are not that bad. Marinated tuna was very tasty but there seemed to be some culinary confusion with Cajun and Fattoush from a Chinese Star Chef.

I only opt for a Japanese meal ex-Japan if there's nothing else I fancy. Apart from bread, western meals ex-Japan are ok.

Perhaps my expectation is not as high as the OP's.
Can I just say that the breads didn't look bad. They just tasted bloody awful.

The croissant was so oily it was as if it had been deep fried in vegetable oil whilst the roll had that springy consistency you get if you try and microwave bread to freshen it up.

Hardly high expectations! I mean the toast the previous evening with the caviar had been perfect - would quite happily have gone a few rounds of that!
