M&M is reluctant to credit my miles!

I wonder if this has happened to anyone else. I still can't believe it!

Last October I flew BCN-ZRH and ZRH-DXB on LX (U class), and back home IKA-FRA and FRA-BCN on LH (Q). I showed my M&M card upon check-in, but only got the miles for FRA-BCN. I claimed them online, and got the IKA-FRA ones, as well as 2 automatic e-mails from LX asking me to send the BPs because they couldn't process my request online. So I sent the BPs by snail mail (which had "FQTV LH-XXX...XXX102/FQTV" printed on them, by the way). So far, business as usual.

After several weeks with no feedback, I checked my account online and read that for these 2 LX flights, no miles had been awarded because according to them I wasn't on the passenger list! I called M&M and they said the reason why they weren't credited in the first place could be a different name in the electronic ticket and the BP (the latter didn't have my second name, but this has never been a problem), and that they were "working on it for sure".

Therefore I sent a copy of the ticket, the BPs, my M&M card and my passport, to prove I'm the only person with this name and M&M number, the names of the 9 colleagues flying with me, and letting them know how upset I was about their (lack of) reply. I also asked them what could have happened in case of a fatal accident; not being on the passengers list could mean no insurance money for my family! And in the end I told them I was sure that the efficient people from M&M would solve this problem in no time...

Several days later I checked my account and guess what: for these 2 LX flights a new "Not on the passenger list" statement. And there are 4 so far!!! Not even an e-mail or letter explaining why they are not crediting them.

It's just 3712 miles, but I insist because I just can't believe this situation. Can anyone advice on what to do next? And before you ask, yes, I sure was on that passengers list. I remember it extremely well, it was my birthday!!

Thanks in advance.

Threaten to file a claim for IDB - you have a boarding pass but were never on the passenger list....

I have had the same problem with a few Swiss flights to/from ZRH. I have been trying to get these miles credited for a few months now. I also have called numerous times/ sent in my BP etc. but no success so far... Not even an email in regards to my complaints. So far more than 70000 miles have been withheld from me because my name was "not on the passenger list". Please let me know if you are more successful.

Here's my recent experience. Booked on OS MLA-VIE (LH stock). Flight canceled and I am protected on KM (Air Malta), which is incidentally a M&M partner. Miles don't post, I fill the on-line form, nothing happens. I send a letter to Verl with all the documentation and request miles for my original itinerary, receive a letter saying my flight was booked in a class that doesn't earn miles (this was originally Q with OS, then K with KM, both earn miles so total BS). I send a fax to Verl requesting miles for my original iteinerary. Winter silence ever since.

I wonder whether a letter on my attorney's letterhead would wake them up. Again, only 750 miles but the principle matters...

I had to re-submit the same BPs 4 times for an NZ Biz revenue ticket of which they could not determine the fare base. Tenacity seems to be key.

But it looks like they found a new criterion not to award one's miles: pax now do not only have to keep the ticket and the BPs, they also have to be on a mysterious passenger list. Always good to demand something from a customer they have no remote influence on .

Best remedy so far - that ought to educate them should it happen often enough.

Ask your TA or LH to see if the sector in question has been flagged as flown or not in your eticket. If not, rebook it and fly again.
If it has been flagged as flown ask them to tell you on which flight!

Therefore, the only logic consequence to this problem would be to ask the purser for a copy of the passenger list on each flight you are going to be on in the future ... I would like to know the reaction of the purser

I had simillar issues with a TK flight. They credited me one segment in the wrong booking class (125 instead of 1250). Daddy Tryolean had not such good luck. He did miss the ~6500 Miles form the longhaul. Gave up after the fourth letter. We only had the boarding passes. The ticket receipt got lost and the ticket was booked directly by one of our clients.
I got the miles for the longhaul credited without a problem. Daddy Tyrolean was "not on board" (who was then the guy that looked like him, talked like him, smelled like him and was accepted by Mummy Tyrolean when I dropped him off at my parents house ?).

So solutions may be:

Make a photo of you and the pursor that shows an actual newspaper, and your boarding pass as a prove that you are on board.

Collect the business card of your seat neigbour that he can whitness.

Get drunk and let the police escort you out of the plane at your DESTINATION. Use the police file as whitness that you were on board.

Keep a structurally important part of the aircraft as evidence - this way, they can sync the maintenance record with their passenger list ...

It should be big enought to have a serial number on it.
So maybe a door, a winglet or something that may be transported on the roof of my car...

I have a different problem:L H says that I was on board of a flight, and I was not...Perhaps I will show them, that I do not have the business card of my not existent seat neighbour...

Thanks. It's good (bad enough, actually!) to know I'm not the only one with this kind of problem.

And please excuse my ignorance, but what's the IDB? A wikipedia search brought several meanings, but none of them seems to be the right one. It sure can't be a bank, and I don't think that filing a claim for the International Desi Boyz will be of much help, whatever that is...

M & M is reluctant to credit miles

I'm also having the ' not on the passenger list' problem with LH. I was one of the passengers stranded in Bangkok. After a 12hour bus journey(arranged by LH) to Phuket an 8hour wait on the airport I finally boarded my flight to Frankfurt. I would love to know who was sitting in seat 44c for the following 11hours. I was credited for over 5000 miles for the outgoing journey. Maybe I should apply for a refund if I wasn't on the plane.
