I don't have a SEN card. I missed out on LH (was about 20K miles short) and had 62 LG flights last year. I am now at the bottom of the pile, just above someone with no status at all and (unless flying on full C or Y) behind HON, SEN, C, full Y and Flex. I'm not impressed.

Not quite true. You are behind HON, SEN, of course. But in terms of op-ups before *G, "booking class".

*G is of no consequence on LG, seeing as they are not part of *A (only of M&M).
I've never had an op-up on LG - when the Courtesy Card was still alive & kicking, I wanted a Y booking and Y was full, LG would "make a C seat available" i.e. move the curtain and sell one of the freshly released Y seats to me.
So my main concern about priority is not op-ups, but waitlist. And I am now level 3 (Hon = 1; SEN, C, Full Y, Flex = 2) as far as waitlists are concerned.

Is waiting list an issue right now ?
I was under the impression that flights are quite empty now ?

On certain flights into and out of LUX, yes, it is an issue. There's quite a few regular commuters, and whenever there is an EU meeting in LUX, planes do fill up. And on Friday and Sunday fligths, there's weekend trippers from LUX, too, especially now that LHR has been discontinued. On Fridays, the 1740 BA, the 1745 VG and the 1825 LG leave with very few (if any) empty seats. Last week, a colleague (LH*S) had to go on the 1115 LUX-LON on a Thursday, because both the evening and the afternoon fligth on LG were sold out in Y. A Courtesy Card holder would not have had a problem getting a Y booking on either flight.
