I guess the relevant legislation will have provided for this, probably so that the insurers will be covering loss in proportion to the insured amounts. (Or that the second insurer will not be obliged to pay out anything after you have have your loss covered in full by the first one)

At least that's the way some other European jurisdictions regulate it. Probably fair, ensures you don't get rich quick at the insurers' expense

In normal cases the affected insurance carriers will do a subrogation during the claims process. Most carriers will also ask for other involved carriers during the claim intake process.
