It does not seem targeted...
I seem to be one of the few who don't have a M&M CC.
What are the first 8 digits of a typical M&M CC ? (This is all that seems to be required to join this promo).
The picture in the promo has 5234 0012. Does this work ?

...Focus must once again be desperate to pimp their circulation numbers ...

Free DKB-Cash account will earn you 5000 miles

Wow, I might be on a roll today... plus this time it is for miles!

Again based on a promo, Deutsche Kreditbank in Germany will give anyone that signs up for a free Internet account called DKB-Cash, 5000 miles...

https://www.miles-and-more.com/promotionstart1

You could even win a trip (more details on their site).

As I don't really need another account, but German laws usually forbid lottery games, I've been looking for some other ways to win one of those trips, and indeed, they offer a very easy form to fill out, without any need to buy anything: (It's in german, meaning (top->down) Last name, First name, Road, Postcode&Place, date of birth, E-Mail. The phone number is not required.)

2. Teilnahmeberechtigt sind alle natürlichen Personen, die das 18. Lebensjahr vollendet haben. -> Means, you've to be 18, but I guess you don't need to be from Germany for the trip. Just the flight will probably start from a German airport.

http://www.dkb.de/privatkunden/dkb_c...ive_teilnahme/

Hopefully I (or someone else from this forum) will be lucky, as the trips look very attractive

Nice one. Looks like a sign up and cancel after receiving the 5000 free miles. Does anybody see any catches or disadvantages?

Well mine starts with 5310 and so on ...wonder if any of those test credit card numbers would work...you can do a google search for these and think PayPal site has them...too bad I already have FOCUS subscription through another promo.

On the surface this looks like a gigantic trip to all of the world wonders, but in the small print they say THEY will pick ONE destination, and you may not choose.

So they might give you an Easyjet ticket to Rome and that's it, he he.

That aside, DKB is a good bank, I've been a customer for a year or so.
So if you're in Germany and looking for a new account anyway, that might be an option.

In case you're taking this offer, maybe you can name me as a referrer, so I can get some "DKB Points" (they have their own point program) and get some tickets to the Zoo or whatnot...

PM would be greatly appreciated in that case...

Beware of the DKB! If you read the fine print you will see why. You have to agree that the bank can sell all your financial data to a list of private investigators. I wouldn't agree to this.

I've also recently watched a documentary over the DKB, in which it was alleged that they have in the past been linked to some very dubious business methods, especially relating to home owner loans. Now where have we heard that one before?

I haven't read the fine print, but it seems to me that you have to leave your funds in place for a minimum time period. It seems that in life nothing is for free.

I am not sure what are the repercussions of this, but both my M&M CC and HH CC are issued by DKB...I don't have a loan with them...

Add. award miles for bordercrossing flights within Europe operated by LH, max. 8 segments. Excludes booking classes K, L and E. Probably only for tickets booked through a Lufthansa City Center.

I am not sure what are talking about. "Sell" your financial data to a "list of private investigators"? What I find is:
Quote:

and this is pretty normal. If you do not like it, better never ever open an account.

This sounds like totally made up to me. Proof? References?

Thanks to olm022 and sutedelan for the wake-up promo, to oliver2002 for the that's why promo and to myself to finally getting the update done (+2 promos). Also check out the new Deutsche Telekom 500 miles promo. The DKB account creation bonus of 5000 miles can be found here.

So is there a minimum investment period?

Don't know, as I have not followed up on that. basic rule of thumb is if the reward is high then the risk/commitment is high. In the past such "deals" have always been associated with a minimum deposit, and time terms.
