Is this a sign of revenue management changes in strategy (only opening C class for bookings 60 days and more out) or is this more a signal that BKK may have some cuts in service in early 2013?

I am also looking this itinerary for Jan/Feb 2013. LX had a fare, ex Bcn, of aprox 2000 euros. I did not buy it because the dates available at with this fare were not suitable. Now it has gone up to almost 2400 euros.

Thanks Oliver for the suggestion. One question- when you look at February/March availability are you also seeing all business class fare classes zeroed out except C and J? It makes me think of upcoming capacity cuts in this case.

Don't even try to understand how TG do inventory management, it will drive you utterly insane.
I think they only have one lever in the inventory management department at TG, which is marked "Calm" and "Panic". "Calm" sells everything at rock bottom prices, "Panic" zeroes out all inventory except D, Y, B and maybe H. Only two settings.

I have noticed this with TG. My real comments are regarding Lufthansa and the fares which are very very high.

Maybe they are taking preliminary steps to cancel the route in SS13. Higher fare classes and lower booking numbers will possibly make it easiers to rebook pax to other carriers.

It also makes sure that not a whole lot of people will book this and it's easier to justify a route cancellation if the booking situation is really bad
