Why even bother with an alliance if you are just going to make it difficult....
Have spent the last 30 days trying to get C tickets for two from FRA to ANC in June 2013. I have been flexable over a period on 6 weeks for the exit dates. I have been flexable on departure airports and connecting hubs. I wouldeven have been willing to take an unattractive stop over to get the flights..... so far nothing!!!! Not a single option!!!
Lately many have been having similar experiences on routes that require flights from a partner - they are simply not being released. Therefore why are these airlineseven bothering with alliances if they see these as too much of a competitor?
I just spent 30 seconds searching and the random date I chose (June 18 2013) and there are multiple available flights with short (or long) transit options in economy, business and first classes from Frankfurt to Anchorage.
OP - Where do you get the facts to back up your allegation that *A isn't releasing availability?
Is there the possibility that given that someone else found the availability you are seeking in under 30 seconds that your allegation is not true and simply the product of not searching?
Why is this a *A issue?
OP claims to be having difficulty getting an award ticket using his/her FF program.
If that's the case, shouldn't the thread go to that forum?
It's got nothing to do with *A. The FFP is M&M.... and yes LH and LX flights are not (yet) available in that month in C. They probably will be later....
An alliance only helps when there might be availability outside your main carriers... as there seems to be with UA for example.

Erm ... the OP says nothing about it being an award ticket.

Not sure what you are reading? But airlines don't "release" revenue C seats ... OP is fuming because there are no business seats available for mileage redemption.

Reason: added "revenue"

Doesn't change the fact that you have ascribed to the OP something he simply did not write. And that's all I pointed out.
Sorry guy but apparently unlike some of you I am not always online...
Sorry I wasn't clear about that - I am looking for 2 award flights in Business and will pay for 2 additional ones on the same flight. I am spending an hour every day on the phone with M&M since this is where my miles are and I am simply having no luck at all.
I can get long distance segements to the US but no connectors on ward regardless of which connecting hub because those are United. Now I know one cannot force them to do anything but I cannot help but wonder.....I am rather getting the impression each airline sees the other as a competitor and will make the others and their pax as unpleasant as possible. None of them are immune so I am not picking sides. It starts with taxes and fees, over lounge use and other status recognition things through out the alliance. How do I explain it? I feel like just because I am an LH client Uinted gives me the immpression they are not intrested -never mind the fact that on which ever flight I get my awards on will also end up getting two paid business class tickets from family members who don't have enough miles but will be coming on the trip tooo.
Why bother if it only causes bad blood seems more trouble than what it is worth?

Is it possible that the LH M&M agents are specifically searching for Business Class award space when the domestic UA / US flights to ANC have First and Economy Class only?
+3 - OP needs to do some homework first. It's a common error for people flying from Europe.
OP - As a general matter subject to some rate exceptions, in two-cabin domestic USA flying, the premium cabin is denominated F, not J. Why not do some research and make some proposals to M&M rather than the other way around.
