The official LH Info

LH has enacted the strike/bad weather plan for FRA for the am on 31AUG. The list of cancelled regional flights is here:

http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...l=en&cid=18002

It looks like they think the missing crew will only mean that a section of the regional traffic operated by LH mainline needs to be cancelled.

So far longhaul in and out of FRA remains unaffected.

FAQ of Flyertalkers

Can I rebook my flight even though its not been cancelled yet?

- only pax affected by cancelled flights can be rebooked, all others need to follow the original rules of the fare used to purchase the ticket

Who do I contact?

- normally the office which issued the original ticket needs to rebook/reissue the ticket*
- If you have an award issued by a partner of LH, contact the issuing airline first
- If you started the trip already, contact LH on the ground or via the phone
- If you want to be rebooked onto another airline outside of the *A/LH partners, you are better off working things out at the airport ticket desk

* under EU261/04 the ticket issuing airline is required to find you comparable flights in the original class of service and during the same time frame. This includes upgraded tickets as well as award tickets

How do I deal with train vouchers?
- you can convert a cancelled domestic segment into a DB train ticket by looking at your online booking and clicking a button. If you can't do that, purchase a normal ticket and send it in for reimbursement. Note that LH will only reimburse you for the residual value of the segemnt, so in some cases (expensive C/F fares) the residual value may be higher, in some cases lower than a walk up train ticket. So in the former you may be better off asking for refund of the segment entirely instead of getting the train ticket refunded.

Airport ticket counter or phone an agent?
- if you are SEN/HON, try the phone first, they can do more for you and you don't have to wait in line. Do your homework, find alternatives, keeping in mind they will try to rebook you onto partners first. You can then walk up to the ticket desk at the airport to have your ticket reissued.
- if you are already at the airport try to be informed and have alternatives handy, maybe by calling someone in front of a computer. Airport ticket offices will have the greates flexibility, but are also dealing with high volumes.
