Wow, this is a great deal. Unfortunately, I don't have enough vacation remaining to take 5 of these to make it to 1K this year. I was able to get in to get in on the AUS-SFO/LAX deals earlier this year in order to reach 2P. Then the DEQM promo kicked in retroactively and suddenly I'm looking at 1P! As for booking a trip to HNL out in 2010, I will wait until the girlfriend moves to town before looking to turn such multi-day mileage runs into mini vacations

bought 2, ORD-MSP-DEN-HNL-ORD-MSP for $345 a/i for Dec and Jan. Why is UA so stingy on the NF when each HNL segment has 1 person booked in F - save that for another thread
bought one yesterday night and used a 200 e-cert (the base fare was 230 something). Now I found another ticket (all UA metals) which is only 190 something, wondering if I could cancel my old ticket (bounght it less than 24 hours ago) and reuse the e-cert for the new ticket??? any suggestions? and thanks so much for the post! it's really great!!!

Miles-MH
Miles-YB
Maybe I should ask this over on the UA forum - but seems to apply here too

For purposes of answering your question, you can ignore those choices. You can support an upgrade on a domestic L fare to HNL using 15,000 MP miles; round-trip would be 30,000.
I'd suggest additional information regarding upgrades and Hawai`i travel on UA may be found in the United Mileage Plus Forum; please refer to the Forum FAQ and or searching the archives.

This would be a great fare...beats nonrevving but I'm unable to find a valid return with inventory for ex...Jul 9,10,14,15 has avail outbound then errors out saying no inventory avail on return...
Does anyone have any dates for Dec/Jan? PM me please...Want to take my family to Hawaii.

You can definitely upgrade the L fare with miles - of course it depends on NF availability.
I upgraded my August IAD-HNL with miles outbound, e-500's (pending) on the return (due to some ted segments it wasn't worth another 15K miles).

You can find inventory in December and January once you stray comfortably outside of the prime Christmas/New Year's holiday period. Try a flexible dates search on united.com. You can also search for "L" class inventory at seatcounter.com.

Thank you very much (and TechnoPagan) for answering my (somewhat off topic) question.
