Are we good to go ?
I booked on expedia and got ticket number and Spanair confirmation number, but when I go to check the booking on Spanair's website it has conflicting info. It says booking is confirmed, then further down the page it says you must receive their email before the booking is confirmed (or something to that affect) but they dont seem to have my email address (it says null as my email).
I have my flight to YYC on hold as an award but dont want to pull the trigger until I know the ticket to MAH is good.

I got the same impression but I guess we are good... JK's website is just a mess and I guess this message is just applicable if you booked directly through there not through a 3rd party channel.
Glad I got the one in december, that will be fun !
I will now wait until I book my next return award from europe or asia to LAX and then put a "tail" LAX-YYC behind it for my positioning

I'm confident that a ticket number and amadeus booking code means its official.
I just wish I'd snagged the Air Canada flight to get full EQMs!
if i can find a cheap way to get to YYC wasnt thinking when i booked this since it was the first time i actually saw a "mistake" fare..might be out $96. lesson learned for me.

The fares for September have not come down yet...perhaps the "Fall sales" will start soon. then you can snag a cheap flight to YYC out of Seattle or drive up to Vancouver.
The revised fare rules on Expedia shows the new fare:

But - whats the difference between the two fares? Is the last one the Expedia.com all-in fare?
Air Canada and fellow Star Alliance partner Spanair have signed a codeshare agreement that expands their networks between popular business and leisure destinations in Canada and Spain. This follows the re-introduction on May 1, 2009 by Air Canada of non-stop flights between Toronto and Madrid, the only scheduled service between Canada and Spain.
"Our agreement with Air Canada strengthens the Star Alliance offering from Spain, directly connecting several destinations in Spain to and from points in Canada and provides a unique travel experience to our customers," said Sergio Allard, Chief Commercial Officer at Spanair.
Customers of both airlines benefit from simplified bookings, seamless connections on a single ticket, baggage check-through to final destination, and other Star Alliance benefits such as reciprocal travel reward redemption and accumulation that counts towards top tier status.
I have to say, I've really surprised by the lack of interest this fare has raised.
As a Star Aliance deal, putting the miles into UA, the CPM is .00975 based on the all-in fare of $98.
Sure glad I was able to get in. It's not everyday that someone on the West Coast tells their friends and colleagues they're off to Spain for the week-end

Well, my credit card has been charged, and I can see my itinerary on ac.com. So far so good, but we're not out of the woods yet. (Anyone remember the Mexico MR on AC which was booked on Dec 26, 2007, but was cancelled by AC 6 weeks later?)
All flights are in E class, except for YYC-YYZ which I booked into A class. I'm not booking my positioning flight too soon ....
