Thanks OP! I found DCA-DFW-MIA-LIM and back a few days later for $252.70. 9860 miles works out to 2.6 cpm I believe. Looks like next day turn arounds are available with at least one extra connection but I love Peru so happy to spend Labor Day week down there.

What sites and dates are the OP and Tclin using to find these?
yuel, you come up with some fantastic fares to Latin America. The LAN/AA connection comes in at $336 for late May with the online discount, which is sweet enough. Again, what sites and dates are you using?
Tclin: Your tip is phenomenal. I'm afraid I only see UA connecting with TACA to LIM and it's well over $1,000 for late May. Not seeing a connection at MEX, either. Site? Dates?
Location: Third circle of hell (aka IAD) and sometimes DCA

I have tried many ( NYC; PHL BOS etc but not found any. However AA ex. NYC show $ 1000 + normally $ 400-500 so something must be going on at AA. Possibly in process of massive new fare download ex other cities to LIM. Will wait until later this morning. What a fare to get close to Machu Picchu.
FYI, LIM - CUZ is flown by LAN TACA StarPeru and Condor. Sometimes TACA is very cheap depending on day but they only have 1 flight each day each direction.

Ex-pda. You don't need to use kayak if you know how to use ITA. More accurately, that's a LanPeru fare (QLESP517).
Seasonal restrictions:
PERMITTED 18AUG THROUGH 08DEC OR 01JAN THROUGH 17JUN
DEPARTURE FROM FARE ORIGIN.
- Sat stay required
- LP/AM metal from/to MEX

Overly reliant on icons above, I just want to say in words what I meant: Wow. Just wow. We drop more than this on a hotel room for a night. And considering all the t&f these days... Wow.
Any speculation on why? Is LAN in trouble? (Apropos of the "too good to be true" feeling.)

LAN is hardly in trouble - highly profitable. And a great airline even.

Various airlines have been offering similar $200-300 fares from Europe to Lima for weeks now. It would seem that the Lima market is very soft with airlines trying to keep up their service.
