- Cost: The backbone of my itinerary is a mileage run jewel:
AA 6779 PDX-LAX (AS 737), AA 30 LAX-JFK (762), AA 179 JFK-SFO (763), AA 8089 SFO-PDX (AS CRJ 700).
22:33 minutes total. 1:27 in PDX before the repeat.
$110.46 all in.

What is expensive?
If I had chosen to do this using 16 PDX-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX returns it would have cost me 16 X $110.46 = $1767.36
6445 x 16 = 103,120 miles
Instead, because I am AA voucher rich, I chose to make my life more interesting, doing 8 or 9 of those plus variety.

This does not tend to be the case, although it can be true with certain programs/promotions.

Yes, mtachi did a good job on that promo.

I intend to top that earning 1,000,000 miles in a different Star program this year. But in one month (and it will be mostly long-haul 1rst class flying).
My first ever series of MRs earned me 747K AA miles.
My current run is different because the focus is not total RDM earned but rather BIS in X days.

Crazy! ME!
Not a concern of mine; I will be dropping one or two of those and crashing at a friend's place if my schedule does not clip a ton of miles beforehand.

Not QF but I have something worked out that works economically for me longhaul int F. No, I will not share the details on this. It is complex and not shareable.

I will probably earn 6 top-tiers this year, but not quite like that.
