This was easy. It was the same aircraft and crew. Had time to go to the Presidents Club and going thru arriving and departing security was not a problem.

Ended up answering my own question, but now the next FTer will know that it can be done.

I see no one has talked about CMB since the beginning of the year.
I'm thinking of doing a turn next month with SQ. They schedule an hour to turn around. Is that to tight? What are the chances of checking in prior to arriving in CMB?

MNL turnaround

As for your question, 1 hour should be ok, but I hope you're flying a carrier with more than one flight. Other thoughts:

-t1 is a real dump
-t2 (which is only used by PAL, for free at tha) is really nice
-duty free prices are very good there

Does this still hold true for Manila? I'll be doing a couple of turnarounds there. CO has a turnaround flight with a two hour stop. Can this be done or is it too risky since CO has only that one flight back (and I have a connection later)? Is there a transit detour instead of having to clear customs too? I won't be checking baggage, but I will have a rolling carryon. Anyone have any advice or thoughts?

When I last flew throughg MNL 4 years ago, it was not necessary to go through customs for connecting flights. Interestingly, they let me sneak out of the airport without paying visa fee and sans passport stamp as my layover was only 4 hours long on the way home from BKK. The day I flew home was the day after seperatists had attempted a hijaking of a domestic flight. My PAL flight to LAX had two additional security checks prior to boarding the aircraft which no other flights had. I would surmise similar precautions are in place today.

If you do not find any timely information here, a specific post in the Other Asian, Australian and South Pacific Frequent Flyer Programs will proabbly elicit updated responses.

Yes, did it a few days ago, but now, since Saturday, they have relaxed the rules even more.
You can now take a normal size 22" (22x 17) carry-on and solid cosmetics (lipstick, deodorant) through security and onto the plane. You can also buy liquids, gels and pastes post-security and carry them in the carry-on for all except USA-bound flights. Still no water, gel & pastes on the USA-bounds. Solid food is ok.
As long as they fit in the carry-on, ipods and other electronics are ok on all flights.

Only single carry-on though, personal items must be inside the bag.

What are the LGW lines like now?
I've got a 5 to 6 hour layover there, landing at 7a, leaving at 1p, and was thinking on taking the GEX into town.

Do you mean at immigration or at flight connection center (FCC)? At FCC fast track was working the 2 times I used it recently, however there was a big queue just to reach FCC (ie before you got to fast track there is another queue).
