Just to close out my experience....

I flew United/ANA w/ a 6 hour layover in SIN. I never went through immigration in SIN (just visited the butterfly garden, movie theater, orchid garden, etc...). When I arrived back at IAD in the US, I used my global entry and it took all of about 10 seconds when I spoke to the border officer. No questions, didn't look at any page other than my photo. So, easy peasy...

Can anyone share any experience with INV? I'm looking at arriving and departing on the same plane without luggage obviously, but on separate tickets. Is this doable when you have a boarding pass for both flights? It looks like a tiny airport but I've never been so I don't know if the arriving and departing passengers are separated or not.

Just exactly what I needed to know. I'm attempting a 2.5 hr turnaround there next week... so assuming the UA gates are near (I suppose it could even be the same plane) all I need to do is find a club to "refresh" myself and take an aspirin. Or perhaps not even that, if the incoming is at all delayed. If I miss this one there's another in 6 hours so can visit all the spots you mention since it will still be afternoon to me! I love that clubs in SIN are open 24 hrs. So civilized.

Quick turn GUA MR?

Found some decent deals for quick turn MR out of PDX or SMF to GUA, with about 1 hour and change between landing GUA and return back to LAX (via DL)

I found the following link that seems to indicate that there should be no issue with having to clear customs/immigration at GUA, but wondering if anyone has info indicating that has changed since that report was written? A Run Around (part of) The Axis of Evil: A Perfect *A RTW in C?

Any feedback appreciated. Would like to have more confidence while still have time to CNX the trip(s)

If you're on UA then it will be the same gate area - low numbered E gates in Terminal 2.

As a *G, you will be entitled to use the KrisFlyer Gold or the SATS lounge. Both have selection of food and I think SATS has showers. If you are flying in J or F, then you can use the SilverKris lounge which is just a little bit nicer, less crowded and has great shower amenities.

Lounges are located in the central area of Terminal 2 upstairs. Head towards immigration/baggage claim but do not take the escalators down. Take a hard left instead and the lounge escalators should be directly ahead.

You will need your departing boarding pass so stop by the transfer desk (you walk right by it on the way to the terminal) and check-in for your return flight. If you are arriving middle of the night, be aware the transfer desk opens around 3:30am. You should print out your return BP before arrival if you can. There are no automated check-in kiosks anywhere.

Security is done at the gate starting 1hr prior to departure. The no-liquid nonsense is still in effect so don't bring anything with you from the lounge. They will check your name on a list and look for a colored sticker on your passport (affixed at the transfer desk).

SIN turnarounds are super easy.

SIN is really the best high mileage run. My last experience was slightly different as I had NH metal for the NRT-SIN-NRT segments. NH flies into Terminal 2. The showers in the KrisFlyer Lounge are clean but cramped and almost amenity-free. I made sure to get my return BP while in NRT some didn’t have to deal with it in SIN and didn’t have to deal with transit desk, stickers, security or liquids foolishness at the gate.

It is a 24-hour terminal but do be aware that the inter-terminal trains stop 2-5 am so don’t get caught in wrong terminal. It can be quite a hike.

I am doing my first ever mileage run to hit DL Gold Mediallion. Got help in the MR thread to do MSP/SEA/FAI/SEA/MSP twice to get the required miles for cheap price. The plane arrives in FAI at 1130PM, turns around at 1AM back to SEA. I imagine I ask for my BPs for return flight when I check in at MSP and explain the purpose of my trip? I want to avoid having to leave the gate area in FAI. Someone upthread mentioned they told the FA their situation and the FA alerted the GA in FAI and had the BP ready for turnaround. Is this how it generally works? Can I use my Delta app to check in if none of the above works?

I just did UA LAX-MCO and back, same plane and gives you about an hour to stretch or hit the UA Club. 6pm arrive in Orlando and 7:30pm departure. 4500 miles and was priced around $200 r/t with a few weeks advance booking.

Doing a MR (UA) to MEX this week and wondering about customs. Flight down is a redeye and have 5.5 hour on the ground. Will I have to go through customs then back through security for my departure? Thx.

Yes, you'll have to clear both immigration and customs, which then dumps you landside. You'll have to re-clear security in order to access the departure gate. FWIW, I found the MEX United Club more than adequate to spend a few hours. Turn left when you enter for the 'quieter' side.

Planning a pure mileage run to SIN ( UA challenge), two day , catch up on movies, check longest United flight, etc.
Now kind of wondering about return security check at Singapore. Any thoughts?

I did something similar on UA a few years ago. 1. No need to explain anything, just use a kiosk to check in. If you want to or have to interact with a human 99% will understand "It's for the miles ." 2. If you're on a single ticket I bet the BP's print automatically. I've had a kiosk print me 8 before. 3. The FAI turn is plenty of time to get a BP, you won't need to do anything to get it ready. Walk off the plane, and ask the GA for a BP (if you don't have it already). If you can use the app to check in it will be much better and efficient. Just check in at T-24 like you normally would. Also, no asking the FA to alert the GA is not how it "Normally" works....just to answer your question.

Have a good MR, you've got nothing to stress about.

At least on the D side they are very familiar with DL mileage runners, so the same probably holds true for UA at the E desk. I wouldn't worry. My conversation in January 2016 went something like "Where are you flying in from?" "San Francisco." "And where are you going to?" "Also San Francisco " (although I didn't mention the connections or routing and they didn't ask)
