Hainan is Back: cheap J LAX-CSX
Cheap J fares on Hainan 787 service LAX-CSX flight for $1760, though not as good as the $1300 flights they were offering earlier this year. It's a great flight, with terrific catering out of LAX and terrific service. Nonetheless still a great price, especially if you're trying to qualify for AS status. I see deals leaving on the Thursday flight, returning on the Monday flight, so you're not in Changsha too long.
I stayed at the crowne plaza and the ramada Changsha east. The crowne plaza is definitely the best for English speakers, being in the downtown area with English speaking staff, and English TV. But the rooms are a bit shabby. The ramada had the nicest rooms (stunning actually), and breakfast was included. But there were two TV channels in English, and none of the staff spoke English.

Oh so he did, thanks Ben.
The worst part about this fare is actually having to be in Changsha where there is NOTHING to do. You're lucky if you find someone who speaks English.
BTW for those who book this fare, make sure you get seated in the front section of business class. You usually have to email or call them. I flew 6 legs of this flight this year, and the second business class section is awful. You get all the noise from coach passengers and screaming.

To each their own, but you could also book a seperate AS SEA-LAX to catch this flight for around $60 each way which is what I did last time.
I don't consider any business class fare above $2,000 a good deal unless I need credit card spend.
