Hi,
I am new to the forum and I am hoping that someone can help me figure out a way to maintain the Platinum status I earned for the first time last year.
Departure Airport: JFK, EWR, LGA
Miles Needed: 13,500 for Platinum (and 53k for MillionMiler)
Required Spend or Budget: 3K, but less would be better
Available Travel Dates: Open 11/9 -12, 11/18-21, 11/25 - 30, 12/8-14, 12/25 - 30
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: AA metal, I guess that would help me earn quickest
Overseas or domestic is fine. If I stopped in London I would not complain.
Thank you!

EXP Mileage Run 25K to 30K
Good day to all, excited to be a new member and would like some help please.
I always end up Platinum on American and am tired of being beat out by Exec Platinum members when doing same day changes or standby and would like the extra perks of being the higher level. With my current travel I will end up between 70K and 75K. So I am looking for a mileage run to close the gap and get me to EXP. Live in Phoenix but can position myself as I fly all over the US. I do not have a Chinese visa.
Departure Airport: PHX, LAX, SFO preferred
Miles Needed: 25K to 30K
Required Spend or Budget: Trying to stay on budget so around $1200
Available Travel Dates: OPen until the end of the year
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: Not sure, as long as I get my EQM's
Thank you all for your time and help, it is very appreciated.

PHX to BOS or NYC day trip is $238 most days in early December, do once or twice depending on your mileage needs.

I was able to replicate the same itinerary for that price with 1 more segment added: LAX-ORD-DCA-BOS-MIA-PTY-MIA-BOS-ORD-LAX - https://goo.gl/flights/Os7f
It's a same day turn though, so you might want to change the dates if you decide to stay for a bit..

Thanks very much for pointing out the option with the extra segment. That is exactly what I needed. I struggle with finding these options.
Much appreciated.

Almost to PLAT again this year but want Exec Plat.
I fly out of CLT, but can hit GSP nearby for more segments.
Looking for a repeatable trip I can do to max segments and miles... need to stay domestic as I accidently let my passport expire (new one requested, but don't think there is anywhere else you can go without one now)
Appreciate your assistance, I want to learn to do this myself but not quite there yet.
Departure Airport:CLT or GSP
Miles Needed:Want to max domestic miles/segments
Required Spend or Budget: Open, but cheapest is best
Available Travel Dates: Open through year end
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: AA, Oneworld, Any Codeshare

How many segments do you need? How many miles do you need? You need to decide on a strategy - either miles or segments, not both.

Thanks jbeckett...
I need 45k miles or 50 segments... I'm thinking miles would be the more achievable at this point?
Even if I can get close enough to buy up this year, I'd be happy... then next year I'd change my strategy to miles from segments and not be this short come next fall....

Going for miles would take two long trips, CGK is the best considering distance and price. For example, CLT-ORD-NRT-CGK-NRT-LAX-CLT is $1036 out 11/1 return 11/3, 21679 miles. This trip is available most days. After two of these you would need a short domestic trip, figure $200 at most. So this plan requires about $2275 and seven days of travel. You can do CGK from FLL for about $800, so if you wanted to position to FLL then do back to back CGK runs, you would have what you need for around $1800.
But ... since you don't have a passport this won't work. I think that going for segments is a better strategy because 45K miles would mean 9 or 10 cross-country trips and cost around $2500 best case - it seems like timewise it is about the same as segments and pricewise it is likely to be more.
