Update: Confirmation received from AA 5 minutes ago. I can now select seats, but to do so in advance is $73-$83 pp, so I'll wait for check-in.

Thanks OP. I ended up going to MAD as well. Nice deal for under C$700.

So it really did book into Premium Economy? If you go to the BA site, does it show Premium Economy seats (even though you can't choose them without elite status/paying?)

Yes, booked into PE, you can select PE seats on the BA site for free now if you have OW status. Ticketed, with price dropping to $550 on checkout.

This will get very little rdms next year but 150% eqms.

Does anyone have a flyertalk thread for best PE seats on BA?

Yes, the seats are indeed in the Premium Economy cabin. They are the only ones from which I can choose--the seat map of the rest of the plane doesn't show up.

i'm really debating about this deal. timing kind of works for me...but I don't know if I really want to be in Venice or in Madrid (or in Bilbao) around that time. I have two kids in tow. If it was just my wife and I we'd go on a feeding frenzy, but not as much to do with the kids.

I noticed last night around 11pm western time this fare is valid for quite a few other destinations. I found yyc to Tenerife and Cyprus as well.

It works for a ton of places from YYZ in the range of $550-850, such as NAP, ATH, NCE, ZAG, MRS, BUD, VIE, TXL, PRG, WAW, you name it, most for around $700.

Awesome! Thank you! I got ideal dates for a show I needed to be at in London. So I need to make an extra out-and-back to Madrid to do it, but Premium Economy for $762 Cdn (approx $600 US) is worth it! Position BACK to London via Iberia at .5eqm earnings for only $134 CAD (approx $100 USD)

Total earned miles: 12988+753=13741 EQM for a total of $896 CAD (714 USD, or 5.3cpm by the time you factor in positioning. I'll take it!)

FYI...these W coded fares are upgradeable to J for 25,000 AA miles return.
