Flight Changes
Many changes have been made due to Etihad schedule changes. In some cases, connecting flights are being swapped to nonstops. Some have been able to get this changed back by calling Etihad, others have not. You may have to repeat call / HUCA to get it switched back.

Update 12/28/14: Etihad will honor the fare per Forbes article.

For JNB/CPT:
- use uber (safe and cheap) / if you travel to Sandton(JNB): use Gautrain from Airport. / review travel advise and do's/don'ts for traveling in JNB city.
- Tons of cheap flights btw CPT and JNB. Always use booking portals like orbitz, skyscanner, etc. to find good fares (for example on Kulula, BA, SAA, Mango, etc.)

Ask on FT (in Destinations) - There are too many islands and beaches in the Philippines to list here.

I've had no luck making the change - EY says Priceline has to make the change who of course wants fare diff+fees. I just wanted EY 102 instead of EY 100 on the same day (this week)

Was your tick one of these mistake fares - and booked through an OTA?

Yes and yes (Orbitz). EY had already changed my itinerary to remove a JFK-MAN segment on AA and put me direct JFK-AUH.....although the there was little to no difference in the timing of the actual trip though.

I honestly didn't expect them to do it. I expressed my gratitude to the agent for her impressive service (I have friends traveling with us on another itinerary that she also made the change for, and she also went ahead and got us seats all together, all within the same 15 minutes). The agent seemed very humbled by my comments, as if my gratitude was not required, she was simply doing her job. I should have asked where she was located, as this was truly one of the best customer experiences I've ever had. Like I said, I didn't expect them to just do it, and certainly there's no reason they HAD to do it either.

Why has it taken more than a month for EY to process my refund for two itineraries? This is ridiculous. Not to mention they didn't even cancel the segments so I continuously got emails about "UPGRADE YOUR SEAT NOW!!!"

We also made changes and rebooked with Orbitz with no problems. So I think maybe the service with O is better than Priceline?

Just FYI - after dislocating and breaking my toe this weekend I was hoping to cancel. I had a schedule change of about 1.5 hours on the return, and since the flight out looked full and any hope I had of elevating my foot was gone I went for the refund. Booked through O, they called Etihad and said they would cancel and refund. JFK-AUH-JNB. Toe not a factor in their decision

Do you know what number you called?

$300 for involuntary denied boarding (and I presume a very long delay) is pretty rough. I'm not sure if the UAE has rules in place for that, but you would have gotten more if it was the IAD-AUH flight that was overbooked.

"400% of the fare to the passenger's destination or first stopover, with a maximum of $1,300"

At least it wasn't a voucher for a free DXB-IAD flight in the future like some people with stopovers on EK have reported.

[FARE GONE] JFK-AUH $187 rt ai

For those posting to ANA on these etihad tickets, how long from date of flight until miles posted? It's been 10 plus days and zero miles, is that normal to take that long?

It's from JFK-Auh-del thanks .

Thanks EY for a great vacation.
Did the double miles post at the same time as the regular miles? Or was there a delay before they showed up? Just wondering if I need to write in to them

Thanks

OneTravel is literally the worst company to deal with. I have been on hold for over 5 hours total now trying to change my flights, they are adamant that they do not want to do it either. Etihad won't help either because the agent has to do it. What to do?

Upgrade

Has anyone been successful in their bid for an upgrade? If so, can you provide a range?

Depends on the flight leg you're trying to upgrade...
