What deal did you get ex-SEA? I hope your flight directly to/from SEA is to AMS... maximize the double miles promo!

Best FFP for 2015 re. trip to NBO

Please add me 1/14-1/21 +6

I apologize if this is a duplicate questions. With 2015 DL FFP wont add meaningful miles. Is there another FFP that I should attach to the reservation that will be more beneficial? Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello everyone! First time posting although I've been lurking these threads for quite a while.

I have a question.. I was able to grab a BOS-CAI ticket for April travel. In the event of a pre-departure schedule change longer than an hour, will DL/AF re-accommodate me on other fights in the event that the new schedule doesn't work for me? Or will they kick it back to WF?

I've experienced schedule changes in the past that resulted in tight connections with DL re-accommodating me. But on fares like these booked by WF... who knows..

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks..

I'm trying to figure out where to bank my miles (for 2/2015). All of my Wideroe emails say the entire itinerary to NBO has Delta flight numbers with V class, but it looks like the AMS - NBO part is on KLM metal so I wasn't clear how this would play out.

As I understand it, it's the metal that matters, so for Delta Class V, I could earn 50% on Alaska (50% of ~10k rt = 5000). But I don't know the KLM class, so I'm not sure if I'd earn any Alaska miles on the remaining 8300 RT miles.

Alternatively, I could bank in Flying Blue and earn 25% on the Delta flights (25% of ~10k rt = 2500), but again, I don't know the KLM fare class, but presumably I'd earn something here.

Or I can earn Delta's 5x price paid on the whole trip (since it's marketed by Delta) for about 1250 "miles".

Does this sound right? Is it possible to find out the KLM fare class? They do have a V class earning 25% on Flying Blue and 0% on Alaska, but from what I read, different airlines' (even in the same alliance) fare classes don't necessarily line up. And as I'm about to hit "Submit", I found this which may have answered most of my questions. Maybe I'm on V class on KLM as well, but I'd appreciate it someone could double-check my work. Thanks!

Don't forget that you can also leave FFN blank, save the BPs, and retro-credit the various segments where it benefits you the most. There is also the whole question of status (not redeemable) miles in the mix as well, but it's not clear how much you care are about that.

Yea, there is that. But that just seems like more trouble than it's worth. I've had the worst time trying to get partner airlines to give me credit for flights.

Plus I've already entered my Delta FF info on the ticket out of habit. Can I just remove it?

It looks like the best place I have found so far would be MEA. You earn 100% on V class on Delta and 25% on V class on KLM. The only issue I have found is that you can only redeem for round trip flights, otherwise, there would at least be enough for a domestic one way.
Alaska was going to be my go-to until they changed their mileage earning on Delta.
Another option may be Aeromexico. Garuda was only 25% for all the flights. Aeroflot was in the 25% range. I don't know where we are going to get the best redemption. I really wish this would have been with a different alliance.

Edit: Looks like GOL credits 100% on the Delta flights and 25% on KLM. You can get a one way within Brazil for 10,000 miles. This may have to be who I credit to since I can use those miles as a way to get to Fernando de Noronha next time I am in Brazil.

If you have status on DL or KL, at least you will get status bonus. I will get 100% bonus for KLM Platinum in addition to 25% RDM for actual flights. And 25% EQM which I don't care about since am Plat for life

This is probably an incredibly stupid question: but is it ok to call the airline now?

Has anyone flown this on AF metal yet? Doing BOS-CAI. Pulling up my reservation on AF website shows status On Hold

Everything looks normal on DL website though. Just hoping not to run into any problems

Is this actually the case? I always thought that it was not the metal that mattered, but the codeshare - is what you are saying specific to Skyteam? In a similar situation with Oneworld, recently, I definitely earned my miles according to marketed flight number and not the metal.

If I am right, then I think the math comes out slightly differently. All my flights are DL flight numbers in V and X class. I bought two of these, so at 100% I should be flying around 30k miles - enough for status on skyteam and a free flight, I think. Saudia and MEA offer 100% for DL V and X; Aeromexico offers 75%. Assume that *I* am doing this right, does anyone have any insight on which of these programs would be preferable?
