It is certainly the case on United. Other airlines manage to differentiate their products.

SQ 15 isn't a code share; how does this affect PQM/RDM earning if you're rebooked as a distressed passenger? Will they also rebook onto the OZ code share?

Oh, looks like the OZ flight is only 2-class.

Well, here's to hoping for bad weather out of Boston, since it's only a 70 minute stopover, but I've never had the 6am be late. I'm not mischievous enough to intentionally misconnect.

does the "flat tire rule" apply to intl F flights? i mean, even if you got "downgraded" to SQ J, that would be amazing.

on another note, just to clarify, since I have dirt status on *A...in terms of getting elite status & RDM from this MR:

1.) credit UA pre-march, get 25,086 PQM (UA silver) and ~40k ish RDM.
2.) attempt status challenge with UA (assuming you have high level status somewhere else). 1K historically requires 35k over 3 months, while platinum only requires 18k. since this iten is 25k PQM, platinum is easily achievable. do you get an RDM bonus on a status challenge?
3.) credit half to A3 (since BOS-SFO-ICN is 8362 x 3 = 25086, more than enough for A3 gold), credit the rest to wherever (get UA status as well?)
4.) credit to LH for 50k RDM, halfway to SEN, use RDM on LH/LX or for a relatively cheaper US domestic award.

It appears that my December BOS-SFO flight time has changed causing a 46 minute connection time in SFO. Is the minimum connection time for dom-int really 45 minutes? Would it be possible to generate some changes that might improve this trip?

1) Rebook on SQ15?
2) Change the outbound date (Do original ticketing rules still apply?)
3) Change both the outbound and return? (How far out could I change this ticket?
4) Add the NRT stopover with new legal routing (not originally booked)
5) Or could I be asked to take a different routing that does not stop in SFO? Suggestions?

I'm currently just a lowly 1P and was considering canceling this trip all together. However, if there are other interesting changes that I might consider to maximize the experience, I would love to hear from some experienced FT'ers before I make the call.

Many thanks!

They'll just have the Mercedes SUV waiting for you at the gate when you arrive from Boston. You'll be whisked over to the 747 and you're on.

My experience is that if it >45-60 minutes, they will whisk you over by Mercedes Suv. Any more than that and you are huffing it from the 60's gates to the International terminal during an especially busy part of the day at Sfo.

Check flight status as soon as you land at Sfo, UA893 is often delayed and posted departing 30-45 minutes late, but arrives close to schedule.

My connection was always 45 min at SFO. We arrived ten minutes late. No Mercedes transfer offered. The rep escorted me and other F passengers to the gate with a ten min stop at UA FC Lounge.

NRT-ORD changed to NRT-IAD

I booked the return ICN-NRT-ORD-BOS in April. Much to my surprise, sometime in the last week, I was changed to ICN-NRT-IAD-BOS with no notice. NRT-IAD shows F0 and I am not assigned (nor can I select) a GF seat. I'd prefer the 747 to ORD but should I stick with IAD in hopes that there might be an oversell and I can pick better (non-UA) flights? Regardless, I'll likely skip the last segment to BOS. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just returned from Seoul via this thread

Many, many thanks to the poster of this fare as I never would have gone First Class if it wasnt for Flyertalk. For a review of this trip I would offer one By Matthew Klint where he reviewed Frankfurt to San Francisco in United Airlines First Class

The supervisor insisted he or UA must pay the F value of the ticket in order to be transported to ICN, otherwise based on the fare value SQ will only transport him to INC on Y.

He also said SQ was aware of this ticket from last time when a flyer successfully flew the ticket but was unable to collect the "A" fare money from UA.

So aside from rebooking to another flight, what are his options right now to get SQ to pay back? DoT?
Was it rebooked on UA ticket stock as a codeshare, or as SQ15? Not sure how these things work but seems like SQ would have less of a case if the ticket were on UA stock as a codeshare.

What did your friend do in the end? Fly SQ Y? Did UA do something to fix the situation? Wait for the next UA flight?

He was booked on SQ 15. Ticket was confirmed by SQ and reissued by UA. BP printed at SK lounge. Then SQ reneged.

The SQ gate dragon offered him to fly Y but no thanks. The dragon even attempted to snatch the SQ BP from my friend...can't believe SQ races itself to that level, totally unbelievable! Later when came back to the GF lounge, UA refused to further accommodate him (all Asia-bound flights have gone for the day) and booked him the next day GF on UA 893.

AFAIK, DoT filing is on the way for sure.

I dig the SQ recognition that UA GF isn't even close to SQ F.

Good to know at least that one shouldn't try and take their time to transit for a potential misconnect. That is quite surprising a SQ employee tried to snatch the F pass away. Did United at least pay for his accommodation?

Yes, UA paid that. For this case, I think UA did an okay job and other things like SQ reneging the rebooking are out of their hands. What surprised me is SQ's tenacity not to honor a confirmed booking even for a BP printed out from their own printer.
