AA: 45184 miles, $2591 LAX-DFW-HKG-GRU & return - 5.73 CPM

(Posted in discussion as I don't believe its qualifies as MR at 5.7CPM)

I don't have the guts to spend this much time in flight, but for anyone looking to maximize SWU usage, spend time on a 77W, and knock out big chunks of EQM, here's an idea. Milecalc puts it at 45184 miles & 5.73 CPM. Believe it would use up 4 SWUs but they'd all be on 77Ws and very nice business class if they clear.

Wow! Two of those and one could qualify for EXP in less than a month easily. Of course, if those SWUs didn't clear I would be beyond dead afterward.

Nothing amazing about it, just thought it'd be interesting to some folks.

Isn't this an end-on-end LAX-HKG + HKG-GRU? If so, why not pick HKG-IGU for the experience (and extra miles)?

It's an interesting idea, but a lot of Y cabin flying in a very short period of time for my butt.

There is a better version of this deal if you leave from SNA and end in NAT

$1970 for 48k miles. Combine the SNA-HKG and the HKG-NAT deal

This is 4.1cpm

Lots of options out there. I'm considering this: SEA-DFW-NRT-CGK (award ticket between CGK-HKG) HKG-DFW-GRU-NAT. 52,718 eqm for $2349 or 4.46cpm plus cost of award CGK-HKG but this allows for a stay in both CGK and HKG.

Yup, pretty much. I hadn't know that HKG-GRU-IGU was pretty much the same price. Adds on 1k miles R/T. I was just looking at itineraries maximizing 77W time.

Indeed. Choose GRU-IGU and not GIG-IGU to get the 77W DFW-GRU.

You can get it for the same price perhaps. But it may require several nights stay in HKG

HKG-GRU/EZE/IGU/other SA cities roundtrip on AA has been around 1.2-1.3k for a few months now.
