[FARE GONE] AA/US: PHL-LAX $236 ai RT (google flights)

O fare. OA21LRA1 / RQA7SJ2Y

Same-day turns available on limited days.

Sample date: 04NOV, departing PHL and returning on the US red-eye via LAS.

Note: this may be one of those rare domestic fares that is not bi-directional, i.e., it may only work ex-PHL with the US red-eye (non-codeshare) needed to make it work.

Also note: this fare probably won't show up with a 'casual' ITA search; you may need to massage your parameters.

Seems like this is actually a PHL-LAS fare that happens to route via LAX one way.

You can route it PHL - DFW - LAX - LAS - PHL same-day turn

4950 but really 5214 if you're eligible to get the 500 min for LAX - LAS

Books on AA.com which means EXPs can request upgrades on the PHL - DFW, DFW - LAX, and LAX - LAS portions (LAS - PHL is the only US airways metal)

Roundtrip required?

This sounds like a lot of those dirt cheap PHL/ZFV-LAS fares that were floating around in the last half of 2013.

It's possible that this is a stupid question, I'm new to this. Can you take this flight, then reschedule the second segment of the return leg? Can I use this, and take a day or two in Vegas along the way?

Just out of curiosity, did you use the multi-city search function on EF to find this? I can't get it to come up and I've tried a number of things to goose the search.

The fare is calculated as a PHL-LAS fare that allows a connection on the outbound in DFW and LAX. So, theoretically, you should be able to stop and spend several days in Las Vegas. The only constraint is that the fare is not available every day of the week, and is limited to certain times of the day.

So... for example, if you can find the fare as shown here with a same-day turn, just try adjusting the return LAS-PHL flight by a day at a time and see if the same result is achieved. Don't "take this flight, the reschedule" - book it with a few days in Vegas if that is what you want.

If you want just the roundtrip to LAS from PHL, you can fly out on UA for PHL-IAH-LAS and return US LAS-PHL for $228.50 for 4711 miles = 4.9cpm. Less miles, of course, but diversifying your portfolio!

I've been trying ... but can anyone do it roundtrip LAX - PHL (with stops is OK) on AA for similar price?

This fare is PHL-LAS (or LAS-PHL) with a connection (of up to four hours) in LAX. There is no way to start in LAX and use this fare. There might be a different fare in the market for LAX-PHL, but it would really not be related to this one.

I keep trying to book this but it prices out at $303 in the final screen, after I've selected my seat and put my info in. It says there was a price change. Tried several different dates and the same thing happens each time.
