Need 8K or 13K Miles for UA 1K from ORD

Any ideas for 12/26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31.....

I am currently at 87K.
I can convert 50K miles for 5K EQM so that brings me to 8K miles needed.

Any idea for a MR.....

Price - do I really have a choice this late in the game?
Overnight should be fine.
Limitations....domestic or overseas is fine.

ORD to Warsaw on LOT is $1112, or to VIE on LOT/OS for $1162. I like the 2nd flight - more PQMs, staying
in VIE vs. WAW, and less time there. 10020 PQMs (excluding any 500 minimums if applicable).

MRs are hard to find during holiday season, but if you don't have any plans for NYE, you can do

ORD-(UA881)-NRT-(UA79)-HKG-(UA180)-GUM-(UA200)-HNL-(UA200)-ORD

Leaving on Dec 30 at noon, arriving back Jan 1 at 8am, and celebrating 2013 arrival in-flight twice: once on HKG-GUM leg and once on HNL-ORD leg. No overnight stay.

~17,500 PQM for $1,330, or ~7.6cpm.

Wow, I'm exact same boat. Trying to keep it under $800 out of MKE or ORD, but I'd also use a positioning flight. I'm 11,767 or 6,767 using the Chase option. i too could use any help, been going through routings like crazy. Last year it was ANC to finish up the year, a bit pricey this year.

Hi:

I would find a workable itinerary to AUA (Aruba) right now and put it on hold. There are options in the $500-600 range via IAH or IAD, even IAD+IND on the return. That'll get you into about 1,000 miles of your low-end goal while you search for the last few miles. Also consider CUR, BON, etc., anything where you can route through IAH especially for the extra miles to the deep southern Caribbean.

If you need some help with this, or using ITA to construct an itinerary, give us some dates and I'm sure you'll get a response.

I'm completely flexible 12/26-12/29 (30th if need be, but i'd like to be home for the Bears game, don't ask me why). trying to keep it to an overnight at most, direct turn around if possible. i haven't worked much with ITA, OK, not at all, so any help is appreciated. I typically am hunt and peck on .bomb.

That shouldn't be too difficult if you're willing to fly on 12/25: position flights to EWR, then to West Coast, e.g., SFO, back to EWR on red eye and back to ORD Wed late morning/early afternoon. Each leg is just a tad over $300.

Here's a sample of a trip to AUA, if you don't want to fly on Christmas Day. You may be able to position somewhere else to up your miles, but Aruba has been very friendly for high-mileage turns from the midwest lately for some reason:

$633.90 5,624 miles
Dec 29 UA ORD-IAH-AUA
Dec 29 UA AUA-EWR-ORD (overnight at EWR)

That would leave you short 1,143 miles from 6,767.

Here you go, 6,812 miles for $653.90 + EWR airport hotel on the 28th and 29th:

Dec 28 UA ORD-CLE-EWR
Dec 29 UA EWR-IAH-AUA
Dec 29 UA AUA-EWR
Dec 30 UA EWR-ORD

ITA combines fares of ORD-CLE + CLE-AUA + AUA-ORD to construct this trip.

I can't get this to book on the bomb. i actually found routing close for as little as $519 but it leaves me 1200ish miles short. Is this a call the reservation only routing you think? Is ITA an app or website that you use?

I've been able to book it on both expedia.com and united.com using the following multi-city entries:

Dec 28 ORD-EWR
Dec 29 EWR-AUA
Dec 29 AUA-ORD

The overnight at EWR should automatically show without having to build it in on the return. Make sure to choose the EWR-AUA routing via IAH instead of the nonstop also available.

ITA is a flight selection website, but doesn't allow you to book:

Booked, as instructed! Thank you Obi-Wan The kicker is, it considered ORD-EWR as one segment, for upgrade purposes, and EWR-IAH-AUA-EWR-ORD as the other, upgradde with 1 GPU...Nice.
