9500 flight miles on AA by end of year? Flying out of SEA

Any ideas for doing this starting December 16th? And of course I want to be home for Christmas and New Years.

I will need 19k miles but am signed up for the AATHX program so I am guessing I only need 9500 miles of actual flying. Does that sound correct?

I'm Platinum currently going for Executive Platinum. Haven't been this close before.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Ivan

All very good info; thank you!

Does it matter if it is a flight operated by Alaska as long as I book through American? Or can I even book through Alaska and use my AAdvantage number?

SJU still looks pretty good flying all AA; I'll work on a filler to add on to it. Thanks!

A flight sold as an AA flight also earns elite status qualifying miles.

edit sju gets 8k flown, so you need 1.5 more at 2 x, or 3k w/o....sna gets 2k mi w/o...so won't work on as...

Silly question; will it always show a codeshare flight as such when making a reservation? Any way to tell from the flight numbers?

Thanks. These are flights 1613 and 1201 but no indication of "operated by".

Thanks for your help clacko! I've booked SEA-SJU on the 17th/18th due to price and schedule, and ended up with SEA-DFW on the 28th. About $1600 for both but it will be worth it for the upgrades (I do a LOT of medium runs within the USA). Couldn't find anything cheap after the 19th.
