The current CTA decision on the Yangon deal is only for tickets canceled by SWISS Airlines for the seven merged complaints/companions and tickets canceled by Jet Airways for one complainant and companions
- It's not about other carriers because each carrier submits different tariffs.
- If you are not one of the complainants or their companions above who were mentioned in the respective cases, you need to submit a case yourself for hearing.
- There's currently one person who is on Iberia for CTA decision, one can either wait for results or submit a complaint to CTA.
Result of the current case for LX in brief is:
- CTA found 5(F) in the tariff used to be unclear for canceling tickets on erroneously quoted fares.
- 5(F) is unjust and unreasonable and must be revised or taken down by July 9, 2013 (or SWISS can appeal by then)
- SWISS did not use its tariff correctly to cancel the tickets.
- SWISS must compensate one complainant's First Class ticket and any related expenses by July 18, 2013 provided with evidence.
- SWISS must transport other complainants (and their companions) in the original price charged with same booking class and routing by June 18, 2014.
Result of the current case for 9W in brief is:
- Tariff on file had no clauses for "erroneous fares" and was updated subsequently, which means it is not relevant to this event
- Therefore, 9W is to reinstate the tickets with a 1-year validity for transport between the same points and the same booking class.
CTA official news can be read here for general overview of the case.
Actual CTA case review can be found here for reference should you wish to file a complaint.
If you have a similar case that's with SWISS, you need to file with CTA to get a result through informal process first before it gets to formal process. The entire procedure can take up to 3 months for each and the result may not be same cause it's case-by-base and the reviewer of the case can be different.
To file an informal complaint with CTA, see here. Click through all of the pages to get to the online form for the informal complaint. Or click here.
To file a formal complaint after informal complaint has been closed, see here. Continue on to the next page to see the address or email address for the formal complaint.

Thank you for the reminder. I realized that right after I posted. Luckily we're staying at the Hilton which is literally a minute walk to the office(there's a elevator that connects the hotel to the World Trade Center and the office is the first one you see when you enter)
UL, keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be okay

Interesting; were you able to do any of those changes, before commencing the trip, e.g. your first flight?

btw, was any of you at DFW terminal A at around 6am this morning? I noticed a middle-aged guy with a cart of luggage with UL tags on them. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to say hello

Another decision on Aug 8, dismissing an appeal by one of the 88:

Curiously there is not a single mention of the original 7 who got a positive decision... has the fat lady sung or is there something going on?

Snort. janetdoe maintains that given IATA's communications with Swiss regarding the RGN-YUL fare, it would have been reasonable for Swiss to inquire about how to not participate in that fare prior to September 28, but they failed to do so.

I had planned to do this. If you get a LH CC sign up bonus, and economist subscription or just transfer miles, you can top up for a US-EU one way in F. Combined with half way to SEN status and the great F availability with M&M, this was a clear choice for us.

Hopefully this isn't considered cross posting....
I'm looking for feedback on where to credit this trip, so I put the question out in this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/star-...l#post23518743 which seemed the most appropriate location.
With that said, since my question is specific to this trip, I'd love for some feedback from the group here. If you have some thoughts on the subject, can you please take a look at my post in the above link and either respond there or here?
Thanks all!

BS from SQ
A very very very unfortunate event - one of my friends who travel today on this ticket missed the tight connection at SFO and rebooked to SQ 15, which was great. Then ticket was accepted by SQ and reissued by UA, and then he went to SilverKris lounge to print out and got his F boarding pass, only when he arrived at boarding gate was told by SQ supervisor this ticket is "no-go".
The supervisor insisted he or UA must pay the F value of the ticket in order to be transported to ICN, otherwise based on the fare value SQ will only transport him to INC on Y.
He also said SQ was aware of this ticket from last time when a flyer successfully flew the ticket but was unable to collect the "A" fare money from UA.
So aside from rebooking to another flight, what are his options right now to get SQ to pay back? DoT?

Yes, compared to earlier reports I cannot complain about the service or the food on the Jet Airways flight, both was outstanding with an Indian touch in the cuisine.
The cabin and interior had some visible wear and tear and the color scheme from Jet Airways is (in our opinion) not as nice as the one from Etihad, but the product (seat) is the same and good to have a couple hours of sleep (the only better one IMHO is CX F).
The amenities and PJs however were from Jet Airways and inferior to the Etihad package and PJs. But I have to admit that I was also not overwhelmed by the Etihad emenities and PJs, especially if you have experienced LH F or CX F once.

I definitely enjoyed the 9W operated flight though, I preferred the Indian options and the space the seat occupies is larger than on the EY product, I definitely had no complaints.
Well, my saga ends with this mildly appropriate picture that has a story almost as confusing and comical as the whole RGN fiasco (and is a direct result of the trip, and was paid for by one of the airlines involved, though sadly not the egregious one, but one of the ones that actually understands customer service).
