People, please edit/use the wiki so same questions are not always asked.

The current CTA decision on the Yangon deal is only for tickets canceled by SWISS Airlines for the seven merged complaints/companions and tickets canceled by Jet Airways for one complainant and companions
- It's not about other carriers because each carrier submits different tariffs.
- If you are not one of the complainants or their companions above who were mentioned in the respective cases, you need to submit a case yourself for hearing.
- There's currently one person who is on Iberia for CTA decision, one can either wait for results or submit a complaint to CTA.

Result of the current case for LX in brief is:
- CTA found 5(F) in the tariff used to be unclear for canceling tickets on erroneously quoted fares.
- 5(F) is unjust and unreasonable and must be revised or taken down by July 9, 2013 (or SWISS can appeal by then)
- SWISS did not use its tariff correctly to cancel the tickets.
- SWISS must compensate one complainant's First Class ticket and any related expenses by July 18, 2013 provided with evidence.
- SWISS must transport other complainants (and their companions) in the original price charged with same booking class and routing by June 18, 2014.

Result of the current case for 9W in brief is:
- Tariff on file had no clauses for "erroneous fares" and was updated subsequently, which means it is not relevant to this event
- Therefore, 9W is to reinstate the tickets with a 1-year validity for transport between the same points and the same booking class.

CTA official news can be read here for general overview of the case.

Actual CTA case review can be found here for reference should you wish to file a complaint.

If you have a similar case that's with SWISS, you need to file with CTA to get a result through informal process first before it gets to formal process. The entire procedure can take up to 3 months for each and the result may not be same cause it's case-by-base and the reviewer of the case can be different.

To file an informal complaint with CTA, see here. Click through all of the pages to get to the online form for the informal complaint. Or click here.

To file a formal complaint after informal complaint has been closed, see here. Continue on to the next page to see the address or email address for the formal complaint.

The July 17th and 18th responses from LX can be found here:

Round 3 is live and running.

I started with FRAkid in RGN. While others were telling me I had NoHope, the tickets always seemed good on their website. I had to overnight in FRA before changing carriers and flying over with a USeless crew.

Despite the many problems, it appears that some carriers are allowing us to fly the tickets trouble free. My only round 3, PerFFFect. I hope other success stories will follow.

I can't tell if my tickets are still good to go as they disappeared from Amadeus. TL system doesn't seem reliable as they never sent me confirmation email to begin with, and on request, they sent a badly formatted, incorrect confirmation.
Yes, Expedia.SE then Expedia.NL. And I am quite sure it is not UL who is doing this. Stupid XP. We need to find the way to penalise them for this. Very very severely.

Unless UL took control over the e-ticket (which is against industry standards) and cancelled the tickets all following XPs are in a deep sh*t now.

OK I could have been to strict with XP, it looks like its MH again who initiated the mess by either cancelling their segments or asking XP to do so (which is quite cunning). Anyways UL as the ticketing carrier has to think of the replacements and XP on their own could not initiate any refund.

I hope XP did things properly because for me its easier to sue UL in Russia than XP around the world (for agent services solely, not for air transportation).

Data Point - Round 3 - UL ticket

Edited: Removed all detailed info about the flights. Got a suggestion from another flytalker that TL is monitoring this thread.

Another data point for RGN, I stayed at Myanmar Life Hotel for $80 one night.
It was the worst hotel ever for me. It seems the hot water system does not work. The restroom has leaking problems. The internet is super slow, barely able to talk on only Skype audio with my friends. The buffet foods for breakfast are so bad, I only had a single bite and left the hotel early morning. In general, I do not recommend this hotel for anyone here. The only good thing is that the hotel is close to the airport.

Advice for travelers to RGN, you need to carry brand-new USD cashes, and without folding. They have to be straight and brandnew bills. If the bill is folded, the bank counter at the airport will not exchange for you. The min bill you can exchange is $20 at a rate of 1 USD = 852 Myanmar currency. You have to carry different kinds of brandnew USD bills. At the hotel I stayed, they only accept a certain kind of brandnew bills which I think pretty stupid.

If you do not have brandnew bills, the only way to exchange is through the black market with a lower rate 1 USD = 700 Myanmar Currency. You have to ask the taxi guy at the taxi counter next to the bank counter. He will secretly direct you another guy outside the airport and exchange money for you. It is recommended to exchange $20 bill or below $40. Otherwise, you lose a lot in this case.

The taxi cost from the airport to somewhere up to 8 km (I remember Km, not miles, maybe I am wrong) is 3000 myanmar money. If you share the taxi with someone staying at same hotels, you can split the cost. It is beter to make friends quickly by simple talking to other travelers at the airport.

That's all I remember up to now. If you guys have any questions, just PM and I try to be my best to answer your questions.

Edited: Exchange money should be in a whole. For example, if you give them $100 bill, you can not exchange for $80 and get $20 back from them. Have to be a whole amount of the bill.

You won't. The confidentiality is incredibly valuable to the airlines. If the settlement isn't confidential, then everyone will demand it. Essentially, they are buying your silence with whatever they pay you. If they don't get the silence, the process has little value to them.

I can't see my UL plated ticket (on MH/AC) on Classic Check My Trip, but can see it on the UL website and it looks fine there.
