Best Way to Maximize Miles around Xmas Holidays?
Well the questions are going to come in soon enough so why not now? I will be flying from Toronto to Spokane for Christmas/New Years and wondering the best way to get the most miles on UA or AC (or whichever airlines I can get the most aeroplan..sorry if this isn't the right thread)? Preferably not flying on 24 or 25th. Thanks!

Add connections? Last summer, for a YYZ-SEA trip, I found a YYZ-EWR-SFO-SEA fare that was about the same price but higher miles. Of course, I ended up spending lot more than the 4.5 hours or so on the direct AC flight..

use the mr tools.....
posting the best ticket you have found often helps you get suggestions....
what dates?....you want to be there like 12/23-1/2?

Yeah, Looks like it will have to be around $900 around 12/22 or 12/23 to around 1/1 or 1/2

One quick suggestion: You are flying in North America during winter. By adding connections, you add the risk of weather related disruptions. Keep this in mind when you are planning the flight. Its difficult to explain to your boss (or your father in law) you missed your gathering because you wanted to make a few extra air miles...
Some cities handle bad weather well - MSP, DTW. Some do not - ATL for example.
