Are there any admin fees if you no-show on the ticket? Are all the fees you quote above, shown on the fare rules/OTA t&c's? Have you thought about calling the ticketing airline and asking them loads of questions that then lead to them realising that the fare is wrong and subsequently cancelling your ticket for you (since you are going to GRU, they are within their rights to do so)?
No schedule changes so far. I will try calling the airline. Haven't been in touch with them so far.
Have spoken with travelocity who say the fare is ok and I got the "best deal" available on that day. These were their exact words.
I meant to post after getting to the royal jade lounge in RGN but couldn't connect again to their wireless network. I had a similar experience with what 2mg described except that I was made to wait in the arrivals area near the VOA counter while they sorted it out and I had to talk to at least 3 officers. At least they sent someone to find my checked-in bag while I was waiting.
In spite of the initial scare of my documents being thrown into the trash, everything else worked out fine. My SQ/MI boarding pass was delivered to me at the lounge 1.5 hours before boarding and no other issues cropped up with the rest of the legs (on SQ/DL). Thank you again OP.
I won't bore everyone here with the details, so feel free to ask if you need it.
FYI to anyone applying for a Myanmar Visa in Bangkok: I'd suggest you go to a travel agent and get them to do it for you rather than going in person. There is very likely a travel agent within walking distance of your hotel who will do everything for same-day visa for 2500 bhat ($80) and pick up/drop off your passport at the hotel. You pay about $40 more, but you will avoid having to wait an hour at the embassy and return there in the afternoon.
Question about visa turnaround at Bangkok; How fast is a regular visa application? Say, I hand my documents in morning 1 .... will I get it all done by the next day afternoon?

Great idea! Least you can sit by the pool rather than being in the crowded, hot and sweaty Myanmar Visa Processing Office...

That's not a regular application.
There are three pricing tiers. Regular takes 3 full business days. Same-day service is the most expensive tier and requires production of a flight itinerary into Burma that shows imminent travel.
So the answer to the question how long "regular visa service" in BKK takes should be: 3 business days.

When I got my visa last week (next day service) others getting same day visas observed that they were not required to show a same day/any ticket. Apparently it's a rule that's not strictly enforced, but YMMV.
Edit: And, btw, chalk up another successful check-in at RGN on TG with an NH ticket! No boarding pass BKK-NRT-SFO yet, but don't anticipate any problems.

Right now, my ticket is RGN-BKK (9am) on TG with a 12 hour layover in BKK to connect to BKK-NRT-ORD (11pm). All C class with a COW fare on NH ticket stock, booked on Travelocity, approx $850 one way.
It would be nice if I could:
1. Be able to change my ticket to take the NH nonstop RGN-NRT instead of TG/NH connecting in BKK.
Alternatively,
2. Be able to change my ticket to take an evening TG flight with a better connection to the NH flight to NRT.
I'm assuming these two things are difficult, if not impossible, to do without a refare. I'm willing to fly what I booked, just thought I would ask.

RGN-BKK-NRT into RGN-NRT: Forget it, not possible.
Change RGN-BKK: In principle impossible, but try to contact NH. No harme done in asking and maybe you are lucky to find an agent willing to change first leg. Good luck!
-For those that show ticket is suspended- honestly I have no idea, mine was show "cancelled" on AI two weeks before this trip commenced, and I was able to work it out with AI (refer back to page 330 #4942-4946).
Who did you contact at AI - reservations in Delhi or elsewhere?
What I meant is to apply for tourist visa for Nov trip on one day, come back the next day to pick up the visa and then apply for the Dec trip visa. Can I do that? Thanks
So, if I have 2 passports ( dual citizenship) it should be allowed then? Thanks
