The US Air $1.86 fares in 2005. I bought 6 cross country. Didn't do one and had Travelocity refund the taxes.

Those are going to be tough to beat on a cost per mile basis. Came out to about $45-ish all in RT. We did six (6) of them to LEB.

Some others of my favorite (though we stayed a while instead of turning them):

- LAX-TPE $96 RT all in on MH Business Class (DL miles)
- LAX-NAN $51 RT all in on FJ (AA miles at the time)
- USA-Europe $20+ RT on BA in WT+ (AA miles, about $95 all in depending on country)

I think the MH one was the best value. With C class bonus, that thing netted some 20K DL miles, and it was a great ride in MH C.

I'd have to say my best would have been last year's torturous EWR-IAH-HNL-ORD-IAD-SEA-ANC-SEA-IAH-GRU-ORD-LGA for $414. Got a $400 voucher for VDBing off of IAD-DEN (part of IAD-DEN-SEA) and taking the direct IAD-SEA. Four days of flying topped off by nearly missing my first international business trip with my new employer due to a canceled ORD-EWR which an angel in the RCC got an ORD-LGA leg to get me in and make my flight at EWR.

So a) was that 414 after the 400 VDB b) what did that work out as a CPM (too lazy to do the math myself) c) how did you find/create that fare and d) while I'm at it, how's the weather?

Whitey in YUL (BTW, -5C/22F, up to 6" of snow...)

Just needed a short turn-around MSP-MKE-MSP, I think the flight cost $127 (maybe $107) and then when I got to MKE I heard them asking for volunteers to get bumped as it was Dec 22nd and busy, wasn't my flight return flight they were announcing for, but I had a heads up it could be a possibility. In the end I got $300 for a bump to the next flight 1 hour later total cost = -$173 and first class upgrades each way (Delta).

As mentioned above, the EWR-HNL-LAX-IAD-DEN-SEA-SFO-LAX-IAD-GRU-IAH-EWR fare for $440 all-in on CO was the winner for me. Got a $600 bump coming back from GRU and a $400 bump from LAX-IAD, so I made about $560 on the trip. It was also a blur to move between all of the time zones.

A close second was PHL-YYZ-BCN-YYZ-PHL for $370, in which I netted a $500 AC bump voucher on the outbound and $780 cash (EU rules) on the return for bumps. Was very pleasant to go to the Washington, DC AC ticket counter and have them cut the check for me
