(FARE GONE) DL: DTW-HND &others $579 a/i 4.5cpm

This fare (variation of) is available from a number of cities including JFK ($589), MSP ($589), not enough time to search other cities. Prices out in T Class.

Sample date for DTW.

June 17-20. leave DTW at 8pm on 17, arrive 10pm on 18, depart 7am on 20, arrive 6am on 20.

Available connections of LAS and LAX add miles, and only add about $10 to the fare. Also make it so there's less days in a hotel.

(Depart 3pm on June 17, arrive 5am on the 19th, depart 7am on 20, arrive 6am on 20.)

HND flights are on the 777ER now, so might be more tolerable in coach than the 744.

I believe it's only available in the month of June. I think that Detroit non stops don't start until mid June, so keep that in mind when pricing.

From IAH

Not that there are many DL people from IAH, but I see availability in June and July on ita. Delta.dumb isn't working but there are other friendly places that you can go to get $591 a/i. Nice find, cfwolfs!

I actually have to give credit to AFWD. But I did all the CPM calculations myself!

Oh, and as AFWD reported, it's available from a whole bunch of cities throughout the US for under $600. If you're not following them on twitter or facebook, you should so you can post stuff like this!

It looks like the clincher is the city you want to fly from has to have non-stop service to either Detroit or Los Angeles, and the price remains under $600. I tried ALB, STL, TVC, GRR, CLE, FLL, PBI, SMF, PHX and all remained below $600.

Even a small amount of love for SEA and PDX on 3 or 4 days in June with codeshares on AS to LAX.

It's working out of the CHI airports too, but you have to stay 2 nights? Worked for a similar itin to the DTW-HND one I showed up above for 17-20, except it tacked on a ORD flight before and after. Leave at 3pmish on Friday, Home by 8amish on 20th

At least one other US carrier started or is about to start new service, believe AA, so it's been in the news

It will not let me book - I am trying a lot of dates and flights and it either says it is sold out or that the price has changed (over $1000). This is from ROC

Fare seems to be good from just about everywhere in the USA to Haneda through July. I don't think it's a mistake fare. Obviously, travel to Tokyo has taken a huge hit due to the earthquake/tsunami/radiation problems, and DL is unloading unsold inventory.

Not really interested in visiting Japan right now -- it's more about the value of the yen than the radiation stuff. I presume there are still no really cheap fares ex-Tokyo for other (cheaper) Asian destinations?

Not sure the deal from ROC, but you can easily book this fare on delta.com from numerous destinations right now.

As I said, I don't think it's a mistake or something that is likely to be pulled immediately. About 4/cpm from the Northeast.

Any new route bonuses available here?
