AA/B9: JFK-SFO $179 a/i

I think this is AA matching B6's fare sale. $179 a/i from JFK-SFO.

Mid-week (T/W) departures only, but same-day turns available -- sadly the weekends are still $239 a/i.

LOTS of availability through Dec.

Got for $179 ai for Tuesday 12/1. Can these fares to the West Coast get any lower? While I usually don't MR for RDMs, with triple AA miles through 12/15 can't resist this deal! And should be able to upg requesting this early.

For those confused by the B9 designation, that's actually supposed to be B6 and it is jetBlue.

I find UA JFK-SFO-LAX-JFK for 189.80, totalling 5398 miles. Would this be worth it, or is their a chance for the price to decrease?

This is a steal of a fare! Plus you are riding P.S. planes.

On what days are you seeing this fare on UA? I've looked at several dates in Oct, Nov, and Dec and can't seem to find it.

Might be due to Virgin starting all the noise and having SFO as their base?

Has anyone flown this before? What's the configuration as far as Y, C, J, and what are the chances of an ExPlat getting upgraded? I know the JFK-LAX routes are nearly impossible...

I assume that you mean AA. The JFK/SFO route is a three class 767 (762) and I think there may be one flight that is a two class 767 (763). The 763s have the NGBC seats. AA clears upgrades by elite level and then date of request. If you are EXP and book early you should have a good shot. All of my JFK/LAX or SFO flights have cleared so far this year. So try to book early. Not sure if this fare is still around but you can still do for $239 ai, that still a very good fare. And triple RDMs with the NY bonus and double EQMs through 12/15.
